Ebbsfleet United's owners have turned down a £10,000 offer from Blue Square Premier rivals York City for defender Darius Charles. More than 2,000 members of subscription website MyFootballClub voted, with 1,977 rejecting the bid and only 60 agreeing to accept the offer. Charles, 21, was Ebbsfleet's player of the year last season. A decision is due on Friday afternoon over the possible sale of striker Michael Gash for £30,000. Gash joined Ebbsfleet in July 2008 from Cambridge City on a two-year contract in a deal worth £20,000. That money was raised by MyFootballClub members and fans. If Ebbsfleet sell Gash, 30% of the transfer fee will go to City because of a sell-on clause. Ealing-born Charles, who came through the ranks at Brentford, played 42 times in four seasons at Griffin Park. But he made history by becoming the first player to be recruited by MyFootballClub members voting to buy him from Brentford for a reported £25,000 in January. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/y/york_city/8081856.stm MyFC site: http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk
