Thought I would make a thread where we could put all of the friendlies that have been played involving Eastern European nations.

    Nov 22
    at Abu Dhabi

    UAE 2 Belarus 3

United Arab Emirates - Saleh Obaid 21, Fahed Masoud 74

Belarus - Oleg Shkabara 22, Leonid Kovel 60, Aleksandr Kulchy 90

    11-17 Azerbaijan 0-0 Bulgaria

    Upcoming friendlies...

    11-29 Egypt-Bulgaria
    11-30 Hungary-Slovakia (Kings Cup, Thailand)
    11-30 Thailand-Estonia (Kings Cup, Thailand)
12-2 final & 3rd place of above two matches

I know Bulgaria have a few more friendlies on the way but I can't find any mention of them right now.

    Thanks for the updates....

I wonder what type of team Slovakia is sending to the Kings Cup?

    Just found my answer...

As exected, they are sending a team complete of only Slovak league players with the exception of one player from Russia.

It is the same for BG. Only one foreign-based player. Considering most other leagues are still playing, it's not much of a surprise.

Not surprised at all. I know the Slovak league takes a break from late November until March.

Bulgaria will play friendlies at Kuwait and Jordan after their match against Egypt. The Kuwait game is December 2, the Jordan game is presumably the 4th or 5th.

Is this a decent friendly result for Bulgaria?

Well, it keeps Stoitchkov unbeaten since he's been coach and it gives him a chance to see more of the domestic players in action since it was an all-domestic squad. An away draw to Egypt isn't the greatest result but it's not terrible. Plus, the players had a league game the saturday before...yes, just two days before the match. Strange scheduling if you ask me.

I think the other two friendlies that I mentioned (Kuwait and Jordan) have been cancelled.
