I was just thinking about this morning, last year the east was far better than the west in terms of talent, and that may still hold true. However was the talent gap so large last year that the following didn’t matter and has it closed enough this year that the west will show the benefits of their one huge advantage over the east

Sigi Schmid (Sounders) He is a great MLS coach.
Dominic Kinnear (Dynamo) He is a great MLS coach.
Frank Yallop (Quakes) He is a great MLS coach, lets not talk about national teams.
Bruce Arena (Gals) Good coach, some of you might say great some of you might say average I say good.
Jason Kreis (Real) Might have a good team this year after years of suck, jury is still out.
Predrag Radosavljević (Chivas) Even their thug team plays a prettier game than ours.
Gary Smith (Rapids) Plays a boring style but it might turn out to be effective.
    Schellas Hyndman (Dallas) Fail.

Steve Nicol (Revs) Thug ball… but he has the best results from this group already how sad is that?
Tom Soehn (United) Really this is who I’m putting second.
Curt Onalfo (Wizards) Certainly he has potential.
Robert Warzycha (Crew) Jury is still out, hasn’t done anything to write home about and I’m still putting him ahead of the last three.
Juan Carlos Osorio (Red Bulls) Nice stretch of play to get to the cup other than that he’s the suck.
    Denis Hamlett (Fire) Umm…
John Carver (Toronto) Shut up Carver.

Not that anyone cares, but I did want to amend my statement, by ours I meant the thug team in the east aka the Revs not the Crew.

I think I would argue you simply made your opinions fit your conclusion..

It’s fine that you think that so I will do this a different and I think very clinical way. I will begin by put the coaches in two groups those that have been in the league for years and those that have not, then I will rate each group by their accomplishments. The reason I will split them in these groups is because it’s not fair to judge those with a small resume against those with a large resume.

    Long tenure in MLS:

    Sigi Schmid 8th season (West)
    Two MLS Cups
    Two Supporters’ Shields
    One US open Cup
    One CONCACAF Champions Cup

    Bruce Arena 6th season (West)
    Two MLS Cups
    One US open Cup
    One CONCACAF Champions Cup
    One Interamerican Cup

    Dominic Kinnear 6th season (West)
    One supporters shield
    Two MLS Cups

    Frank Yallop 5th season (West)
    Two MLS cups

    Steve Nicol 8th season (East)
    One superliga championship
    Six eastern conference championships
    Four MLS cup appearances
    One superliga championship

    Short tenure in MLS:
    Tom Soehn 3rd season (East)
    One supporters’ shield
    One us open cup

Juan Carlos Osorio 3rd season (East)
    One MLS cup appearance

    Denis Hamlett 2nd season (East)
One time in the [post season
    One eastern conference final appearance

    Curt Onalfo 3rd season (East)
Two times in the post season
    One eastern conference final appearance
    Preki Radosavljevic 3rd season (West)
Two times in the post season

    Gary Smith 1st season (West)
    First year

    Robert Warzycha 1st season (East)
    First year

    Schellas Hyndman 2st season (West)
    Nothing

    John Carver 2nd season (East)
    Nothing

    Jason Kreis 3rd season (west)
    Nothing

This is how I rated them due to accomplishments alone; I think it shows a clear advantage for the west, if you would care to dispute this I would be glad to read your case. I tried to rate each as impartially as I could, as an example, if this were my personal opinion I would never rate Juan Carlos Osorio second in that group but getting to an MLS cup is more than the others have done. The West dominates in both experience and accomplishments, the east does win in the newcomers area.[FONT=&quot]

Honestly, whoever's in charge of the CCS videoboard should play that clip after all home wins. It probably won't happen since I heard rumblings that they once got in trouble for playing something like "The Night Chicago Died" or a clip when someone fell over or something similar.

I'm wondering how Nicol has 6 Eastern Conference Championships, but only 4 Cup appearances. Are these Regualr Season titles?

In Memphis at their AAA baseball games, whenever an opposing manager gets into an argument with an umpire and is tossed, this is played on the scoreboard.

Speaking of baseball ejections, I'd like to see anything rival this:

My apologies, that was supposed to say six consecutive eastern conference finals appearances. I also screwed up on Jason Kreis as his team obviously made it to the playoffs and the western conference finals last year. This is why you shouldn’t compile information in a hurry.
