I will be flying in from Cincinnati for the opening game. What is the easiest airport to fly in and out of?
LAX and Long Beach are about the same distance from the Stadium.. The main thing is that if you come on a weekday, the traffic may be easier from Long Beach depending on where you are going from the airport. On a weekday I would go to LB.. On a weekend I would pick the one with the best flight. Not knowing your plans makes saying which would be best difficult but you'll be fine if you have go to LAX.. Actually (but it's further away), Burbank airport has always been my favorite for ease of getting in and out of but they tend to charge a little more for flights there because of it.
The difference would be about 5 miles at most I believe.. I checked a map.. But your choice of LB may be best.. LAX is a monster as you likely know.. I hate it myself..It's like dealing with Manhattan traffic on a bad day, until you escape.
Long Beach is going to be more expensive. Do you really want to be flying in to a provincial airport? Without question LAX is the best solution. Rent a car and get on the 405 South and drive about 30 mins. Get off at Avalon Exit and turn left. Take Avalon about a mile and a half until you see Victoria Street which is the first major cross street. You will see a big electronic sign that says "Welcome to CSU Dominguez Hills." El stadio is right behind it. I do this every MWF.
Not quite right. If you are going south on the 405, the best exit is "Vermont." You make an immediate left and that puts you on 196th St. (I think) for a few blocks. 196th Street changes its name to Victoria Street. Stay on Victoria (east bound) until you reach Avalon.
If you come in on gameday, fly into Burbank. You'll actually save time not having to hassle with LAX. "Burbank-The Fisher-Price Airport"
From Long Beach Airport 11.6 miles and about 17 mins. to drive. From LAX: 12.4 miles and about 17 mins. to drive. From Burbank Airport: 30.5 miles and about 38 mins. to drive. From Orange County Airport: 33.6 miles and about 39 mins. to drive. Is flying in and out of Long Beach expensive? I did a round-trip to Oakland for $82 on JetBlue. And it's easy to get in and out of. If you want the easiest route, it's gotta be Long Beach. Good luck finding flights to there.
More often, flights are cheaper at LAX than the smaller airports because of demand. Sometimes it's considerable and sometimes not... Sometimes the same..
And if you're looking for a hotel, there's a Hampton Inn about 1/2 mile north of the complex on Avalon right near the 91.
Cadaver is right He's right. Just drove it today to pick up my student roster and realized I was writing for the 91 Freeway. In fact, I went back and edited just so people would not be confused. Vermont is the exit to take. Stay on 196th Street and turn right on Avalon then left into the stadium.
Crap. I tried to edit the post, but no luck. Need to shell out the 50 bucks for premier status. Sorry
Thank you all for responding. My plans have changed, though. How long of a drive from Vegas is the new stadium?
Per DeLorme Street Atlas: 280 Miles. 5 Hours 04 minutes. Maybe - depending on when you are doing the Vegas to LA drive, traffic can be brutal and it could take a lot longer than that.
I've done it in just over 3 hours (in the middle of the night and not adhearing to posted speed limits ) and it's taken 8 hours driving home on a Sunday afternoon. Somewhere in between. 3 and 8 hours driving.
