WOW! I'm SURPRISED BY THIS NEWS!!! Not really... But a striker is a plus for this team for sure. Davide Somma, never know you and will not miss you.

Five MLS teams in three years...I bet you that he never unpacks his suitcases when he gets here.

Did Somma even play in any regular season games this year?

If he gets picked up by another MLS team and plays well, I will be pissed....

On the one hand, I think that Glen is a better forward than any of the guys we have now. On the other hand, I don't see forward as our biggest need.

Waiving Somma, what for? He played all of four minutes plus stoppage time for us. Not a very big sample. Compare that with 765 minutes of almost unrelieved crap for Corrales. Compare with 810 minutes of dreck from Gracia. Compare with 349 minutes and three starts for worthless Elliott. We have seen 808 minutes of mostly crap from Convey. But clearly, four to seven minutes for Somma at the very end of a match is enough to tell that he sucks irretrievably.

Hey, Somma could be horrible, I just don't think I have seen enough of him to know.

Again, my worry here is that we will waive the younger guys and keep the old, slow, past-their-prime, over-paid guys like Garcia, Corrales, and Elliott. Thus, we will have absolutely nothing to build on when Frank gets sacked, and he's going to get sacked. Probably before the end of June.

    go quakes :(

Well I am willing to give him a shot, of course I think I read somewhere that he will be leaving soon for his national team. So we might only get like 20 minutes of him tonight and then have to wait a while for him to comeback....hopefully this is like our Sealy move last year (the small move that helps a little) and not their idea of a Huckerby type move because we need a lot more help.

This is a little like signing Sealy last year, but with no Lima and Corrales so far off his game he might as well be on IR.

So we haev to hope that Glen was just available sooner than the midfielders that JD and Frank are looking at. Otherwise, we are screwed, but then, our season is already wasted anyway.

For some reason, the name Cornell Glen keeps on getting switched with Gavin Glinton in my mind...

    I wonder why...

Looks like he's getting called in for the WCQ's June 6 and 10.
