I still don't know what was wrong with gustavson. He was a beast during the Honduras friendly.

I'm a fan of Webers. I've seen some of his material during Reserve Play. He's pretty good.

I hope he's got Cat-like reflexes, a real Superstar, a credit to the Beautiful Game. Otherwise, don't cry for him, he's getting shipped straight to Sunset Boulevard on the Starlight Express.

When I saw the title, all the tunes form the musicals came to mind. Hope he is not a "phantom" that the ball goes through. "Cats" like reflex will be cool.

Ditto. Though maybe we don't know what was going on. Maybe Gustavson is done with pro soccer, maybe he wanted more money. Who knows?

This may be the case. You can only live so many years on MLS minimum wage.

Roblar's roster is more up to date than the earthquakes one online.

No official confirmation, but Gustavson has not been in camp, is not listed on MLSnet, and is most likely not a Quake. I'm pretty confident about that. So, we needed to sign at least one keeper! (THE JOE is still not "official" either - despite what his facebook page may say.)

I was also a fan of Gustavson. Apart from his kicking, He did well in the Honduras game. Maybe he was cut for practically tripping over his own feet during that game!? :p Nah... I thought he was good. I bet he just didn't want to sit behind THE JOE at Dev/min salary for the next three-four years. Can't blame him. ...and I wish him well in whatever he's doing.

From a positive standpoint, it's that a backup has been found for Joe. Negative. How about backup USL keeper...

I'm sure that Webers will do just fine...

... as long as Joe doesn't get hurt....

Considering his relative experience in both MLS and USL-1, is Andrew Weber the Brian Boucher to Joe Cannon's Evgeni Nabokov?

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

wasn't gustavson the keeper in the seattle loss last year. he looked really slow. i was looking forward to watching him play but was disappointed in his ability to react.
