MISL Quotes: "I came over as a poor, unwanted guy from Poland and this country gave me everything. I got to play, I got really good pay, I got a good place to live. There is no other country in the world where I could become a well-known guy so quickly." - Stan Terlecki, Pittsburgh Spirit
Seeing these old Soccer Digest covers sure brings memories on how we got our info fix back in the day. I also used to buy "World Soccer" magazine, which a few news shops would carry in the Seattle area where i grew up
I loved Soccer Digest But even though it was a monthly publication (for only six months of the year - it later turned into a bi-monthly pub) it sure was lagging in promptness of news. I recall watching Star Soccer on PBS one Saturday. Those games were usually played one or two weeks beforehand. This one match was Tottenham v Liverpool and the commentator mentioned Ray Kennedy, "who scored the all-important goal in Munich to put Liverpool into the European Cup final." A few days later I received the latest issue of Soccer Digest and in the International section it had news on a few of the Round of 16 matchups along with the matchups of the quarterfinals.
