I heard that supposedly, Ben Pardew, the Baltimore Sun Player of the Year out of Baltimore/Calvert Hall has given a verbal to Maryland but have not heard for sure. Baltimore Sun All-Mets who are listed as having made commitments include Kyle McHugh of McDonough to Princeton; Kevin Mezzadra of Loyola to UMBC; and Brian Yi of McDonough to Duke. Anybody else, anywhere?
A bunch are on: http://www.studentsports.theinsiders.com Signing day is still a month away...these are all unofficial.

What's the story on Corey Ashe? Is he the real deal? I've heard he's good, but if I remember correctly I think someone said his size could hurt him. Is he small? And can be contribute right away at UNC, because they are losing a lot up top, with Kneipper, Testo, gell, and crawford leaving.
Ashe is listed at 5'5" 135lbs. I'd guess him to be a tad smaller. Obviously, he can play or he wouldn't be in Bradenton. Can he play the college game? Time will tell.
This Saint Louis University recruiting class listed below is absolutley loaded with Blue Chip recruits. Dan Donigan and Mike Sorber have done an excellent job of getting the top Saint Louis area kids to stay at home and play for SLU. DiRaimondo and Grazier are both stalwarts on John Ellinger's United States Youth National team and both are involved in the US residency program in Bradenton FL. The funny thing is those two may not even be the best of this group. Alex Matteson, Mo Benne and William John may all be as good if not better and then you have Vedad Ibisevic a Bosnian refugee living in Saint Louis the last 4 years who is a part of the very large and fertile Bosnian soccr community in Saint Louis. Ibisevic has an incredible set of skills with a huge upside potential. The only player I'm not first hand familiar with is the kid out of Marquette High School in Milwaukee and everthing I've heard of this kid are very positive as well. *Mo Benne, Chaminade (Mo.), Scott Gallagher, D *John DiRaimondo, University (Mo.), MF *Vedad Ibisevic, Roosevelt (Mo.) *Brian Grazier, Edwardsville (Ill.), MF *William John, Rockhurst Jesuit (Mo.), Kansas City Attack, F *Alex Matteson, Chaminade (Mo.), Busch SC, MF *David Peplinski, Milwaukee Marquette (Wis.), MF
Ashe will at least be a decent to good college level player. He may never star, and I think that's the question that should be asked.
He's had professional interest also I believe. I remember hearing his name mentioned in the Yanks Abroad forum.
Most U17 residency players are head and shoulders above the other prospects. He's been going to HS in the U.S.? Does he have his green card?
Yes Dave Vince Vitale is a Senior @ Saint Mary's High School in Saint Louis. My son attends the same school. I haven't heard where he will be going. I will check it out and report back.
Most U17 residency players are better than many other prospects but in know way would I classify DiRaimondo and Grazer as head and shoulders above the other SLU recruits. Matteson, Benne, John and Ibecivic are all exceptional talents.
Regarding Vedad Ibecivic, Saint Louis has a huge Bosnian Community. I think around 30,000 refugees have settled here in the last 10 years. I don't know if he has a green card or not
Wouldn't he need one to attend college here? Maybe not. Which one of those St. Louis recruits has Brad Davis like potential?
Well that is a good question as Davis is indeed a special player with gifted vision and great technical skills along with a sweet left foot. DiRaimondo is probably the most like Davis and is very technically gifted. As an interesting side note DiRaimondo, Matteson and William John are all the sons of very fine players. Bob Matteson was an All American at SLU and played in the NASL for the Saint Louis Stars and Mike DiRaimondo and Emilio John were stars at Quincy the perenial NAIA Champions during the 60 and 70's. Emilio John went on to a standout career with the MISL Saint Louis Steamer's who used to average 17,000+ in attendance during their heydays.
So DiRaimondo is the only player who can compare technically to Brad Davis? Davis had some sweet ass goals last year for the Metros. He had one lob that was Latin-esque.
St. Louis prep choice Anyone know where Matt Hoff from Chaminade is headed? I thought he and Matteson were the class of the state final
St. Louis star to the ACC? In reference to the players from Chaminade HS in St. Louis, NSCAA All-American Matt Hoff has been rumored to be headed to Duke University. The creative attacking player looks to be heading what has shaped up to be a pretty talented recruiting class for the Blue Devils. The class is susposed to include US U-17 National player Kyle Helton, as well as two other NSCAA All-Americans: Danny Miller (New Jersey) and Chris Loftus (Illinois). This is all second hand information, but should be more official after the signing date.
Re: St. Louis star to the ACC? I would be shocked if Matt Hoff signs with Duke. I'm a friend of his family and it is my understanding that Matt has narrowed his choices to 4 schools, First Choice is Harvard followed closely by Yale, Notre Dame, and Saint Louis University. I do not believe that Hoff is considering Duke at all.
hoff Interesting. Any way you can politely tell him he should play for Princeton? I think Jeff Plunkett (sp?) from Parkway Central was the last St. Louisan to play there and he did very well. Barlow must know about this guy!
