Video game nerds rejoice, the convention officially starts tomorrow but the whole thing unofficially starts today with Microsofts press conference at 12:25 (central time).

Compared to last years convention where almost every bit of news the 3 major companies planned to announce has yet to leak out and I think that fact has helped to build up the anticpation for me this year.

Here is a quick list of what I'm hoping for:
    * Multiplayer Beta is announced for Modern Warfare2
    * Final Fantasy XIII gets a more secure release date in 2010, like Summer of 2010
    * Heavy Rain gets a release date for this Holiday Season
    * Enough is shown of Alan Wake to ease all the concerns that it will be released
    * MAG is shown and the 256 player multiplayer games actually to work
*1vs.100 is given a go live date and I can get into tonights Beta without any problems
*Both MS and Sonys press conferences can be downloaded off their respective systems so I can watch them when I get home from work.

I could go on but I should get some work done before MS press conference.:) Anybody have anything they are looking forward too?

LOL, I'm at home now to watch MS's presentation. I took a half day, I'm such a nerd. Looking forward to it.

If you listened to Major Nelsons podcast he released yesterday he was talking about how XBL was gearing up for all the demos and videos that would be released today.

Wow, Microsoft put on one hell of a show.

Didn't care one bit for the Rock Band Beatles stuff, but a lot of the other stuff was great.

    - Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage was nice, XBL gets the MP maps released before the PSN.
    - Alan Wake looks awesome, Spring 2010 release
    - FFXIII gamplay on the 360, with English menus and voiceovers. Spring 2010 release
    - Splinter Cell Conviction looks great, fall release
    - Halo 3: ODST gameplay footage, releases 9.22.09 and the Halo: Reach teaser. Buy ODST and get into the Halo: Reach MP beta.
Project Natal looks awesome, can't wait to see what they do with that.
    - Facebook, Twitter, and last.fm all coming to the 360 in the fall.
    - Watch movies with your friends.
    - Browse Netflix right through your console.
    - For the UK and Ireland they joined with Sky to show live tv and footy.
    - All rental/movies/tv are 1080p and start streaming immediately

They really did a great job. It'll be interesting to see what Sony and Nintendo do tomorrow.

Its going to be hard for anyone to top Natal at this E3. The presenter was right in the sense that this could basically be the next gen but without the need for a new console.

I saw that, the game looks lame and they called Pele the best soccer player ever, too bad they were wrong on everything about that game... and Pele.

Really? I thought The Beatles stuff was great. The non-gameplay trailer for it was awesome too.

I don't care about the Beatles so for me an entire game based on them doesn't interest me one bit. It was supposed to be a MS event, I thought spending almost 20 minutes on Beatles RB was far too much wasted time.

Ah, that I agree with. XBOX gets some piddling exclusive DLC in the future for The Beatles game and they go on like the game itself is an XBOX exclusive. Did GTA 4 get introduced at E3 during the MS event? I mean that had exclusive XBOX DLC, well eventually it would, but somehow I don't think it was featured by MS..

Star Wars : The Old Republic looks like it could be something very special.

Bioware are masters of RPG but it will be interesting to see how they transfer that skill and the Star Wars universe to an MMORPG

Nope, MS didn't mention The Ballad of Gay Tony at all during their press conference. Not sure why, I would have touted it.

Wednesday 4:30pm is the slot AC2 have according to IGN.com

    ------

Just watching the IGN stream before the live stuff happens. Ghostbusters doesn't look very good and Prototype looks like lots of fun if it's the sandbox game it appears to be.

It's not really a surprise though, ever since the first Rock band, the game has been shown at MS E3 press conferences.

It was on the Wii. The graphics look cartoony which isn't a problem but the game play just looked dull. It was only a small game play video so it might be a good game but first impressions aren't good.

The Nintendo Press Conference was dull and continued to show that the Wii is aimed at parents and idiots.

That Wii vitality looks like a joke. But I gotta say I thought the new Super Mario Bros. (Not Mario Galaxy 2) sounded like it could be fun.

    Oh thank god.

There is in fact two separate versions of Ghostbusters.

There is the cartoon version for the Wii and PS2.

And the high quality version for the PS3 and XBOX.

    My faith is restored.

It did look like a lot of fun, especially with the 4 player mode. Everything else was ...... rubbish.

I didn't know that, I'm much happier now too :D

The new Splinter Cell looks great but I'm more looking forward to Wednesday with Star Wars : The Old Republic, two Lucas Arts games (please, please, please be adventure games and not Star Wars) and an hour of Brutal Legend which looks amazing!

Jeez, from this point on it looks like things are getting better for the PS3.

I'm ready to buy Ghostbusters which comes out in 3-4 weeks.

Zombie Apocalypse the PSN download game from Konami sounds awesome, its censored in Japan and being banned in a few countries for the hardcore gore. Love the fact that it supports 4 players locally and has an online community. The game comes out Q2 09', hopefully that means this month.

Batman Arkham Asylum which I'm still skeptical about, comes out in August.

Lost Planet 2, I've already been toying with the idea of getting the first one off the PSN store.

And of course MGS Rizing with what looks like Raiden.
"Tactical Espionage Action" is being replaced with "Lightning Bolt Action" whatever that means.
Can't wait for wednesday to see what Konami has to say.
