Re: In our new stadium will we have $1 concessions specials? If they outsource the concessions to someone like Aramark, you can forget any good discounts on food or drink. The contracts those guys have usually leaves a good bit of discretion on pricing to Aramark, such that if they do $1 Dogs Night, the team has to cover the loss to Aramark. Plus, most of those companies put out the same stale crap. Find a local group who could pull off something cool (like Goode Co.)
Re: In our new stadium will we have $1 concessions specials? Hell with Armark! They can just call my EB compadre, " El Matagatos" so he can park the Bata'bus in front of the main exit for all the drunk and hungry Dynofans that want to munch on some Monterrey Style charcoal chicken after the matches. POLLOS CON SALSA VERDE! ps...$1 DYNAMOPUNCH SHOTS VIA THE FUBOY BRIGDE!
Re: In our new stadium will we have $1 concessions specials? *Oo* That sounds good. So does a pupusa stand. DC has one at RFK. Our traveling fans should've feasted on some.
Re: In our new stadium will we have $1 concessions specials? ?que, que? i thought you were mexican? . . . . . . .
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant Ive found a stadium that i think would be perfect for MLS clubs, Ive already posted this on the San Jose boards. Its the Liberty stadium in Swansea Wales. Its used for soccer and Rugby and concerts as well. It also has conference facilities. It was built in 2005 and seats 20,500 which is the perfect number of seats for MLS games. The beauty of it is that it only cost $39 Million to build in 2005 prices. Even allowing a little bit of inflation it would cost maybe $50 million in todays price. ( Saying that with the economy the way it is i dont think you will ever find a cheaper time to build a stadium) Im not sure what the cost of the Houston stadium is proposed to be? Someone can let me know please. Anyway links are here: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/2242880.jpg and http://www.swansea.gov.uk/media/images/p/a/Swansea_Liberty_Stadium2.jpg
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant I have seen this stadium referenced before along with similar good analogs/fits before. The major change would be to allow for better air flow due to humidity/heat in Houston along the ability to expand. It's a pretty nice stadium for the price. The cost question - the currrent estimate is about $80 million.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant what can a lousy cheap 80 million stadium get you in europe FC PORTOS HOME COST 80 MILLION USD, our architects, suck ass
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant Actually 98 million Euros in 2003 which equates to about $117million at the 2003 exchange rate
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant Kayseri Kadir Has Stadium in Turkey cost 68 million turkish liras (in us dollars its 45 million? im not sure on the conversion but wiki page said 68m TL!) the stadium has a capacity of 32,864 people (all-seated.) its a nice stadium, covered and modern!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayseri_Kadir_Has_Stadyumu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kadir_Has_City_Stadium.jpg http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/middle_east/turkey/central_anatolia/kayseri_has1.jpg http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/middle_east/turkey/central_anatolia/kayseri_has2.jpg
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant HOw much are materials and labor in Portugal? Is the labor force unionized? Those costs are a huge portion of the overall bill and unless you know what those costs are in Portugal, you really can't compare the two. Just saying.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant Hear, hear. I am amused by those folks that have no concept of different countries having different costs.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/middle_east/turkey/central_anatolia/kayseri_has1.jpg Steep seating, high heat, Gulf Coast humidity, stuffy air and a lot of Dynamo battle noise trapped down on the field. Talk about a massive Houston home field advantage if MLS officials continue to have league play thru the summer months. If'n we got that stadium dare some say "welcome to the pit of Hell?" New banner material for those that like to celebrate Hell and pro soccer together.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant i just dont understand why such plain stadiums with under 30k seats have to cost that much here in the united states... even in europe were the cost of material and labor is just as high as here in the states!! in europe 80mill gets you a lot!! in england for 50mill you could get a decent 25k seat partial COVERED (not dome) stadium!!! lets just add a kickas 10million dollar AC unit!!
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant You know for a fact that labor and materials cost the same in Europe as they do in the United States? Because I know for a fact that materials and labor costs are different from New York to Califonia.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant i'm amused by know it alls who support 3 different teams in the same country.
Re: Dynamo Stadium News VIII: TSU Agrees to Become Tenant Hey now, you support both Houston and Tigres and if you ask anybody from New England they will tell you that both those teams are in Mexico.
