Your probably right on President's club being the 20+10. Since that is what I signed up for that is what I recalled.
The "sale" is speculation based on that tweet from Wahl that there were folks in town (LA) who were interested in the purchase. Dynamo Stadium LLC was the entity that negotiated the 30 year lease with the Sports Authority. Dynamo Stadium LLC has a contact address of AEG - Los Angeles.
Ponce made a point before that seems to have been overlooked - wasn't the original agreement with the city for AEG to lease the property from the city (nominal rent) and then deed the stadium over to the city after the construction was complete? AEG would operate the facility afterwards, collect all revenue and pay all debt. I think I read that early on. True? False?
That is basically the case. The lease is between the Harris County Houston Sports Authority who are acting on behalf of the City and County - and Dynamo Stadium LLC, which is an entity of AEG. The term of the lease is 30 years and it contains substantial penalties should the team move ($1 million per remaining year). Apparently there is also a lease agreement between Dynamo Stadium LLC and the team
A tiny bit of me wants AEG to keep their half so we don't find out what really happens. Also...I had a very bad thought, I wouldn't mind an Andre for Adu or Bravo trade. I'm sorry for the impure thought.
This is the main point. AEG(DS LLC) "own" the stadium for 30 years thru a lease in return for building it. The Dynamo are a tenant AEG. All pretty cozy as long as interests are aligned. If AEG sells their Dynamo stock the interests no longer align. This could all be mute if the Dynamo - AEG lease agreement is longterm and tight. But we must remember is was put together by only AEG personnel. Why would it protect the interests of the Dynamo? There is a lot here we don't know.
Under section 8.1.11 of the lease between DS LLC & HCSA, DS LLC "shall have delivered to Landlord a fully-executed copy of the Team Lease". I would assume that under Open Records laws that once HCSA gets that it would be something someone could request a copy of.
Maybe - maybe not. Just because a private entity provides proprietary information to a public entity that doesn't make it public information. (note to self - file an opens - records act request with HCHSA requesting the identity of anyone else who requested the Lease and Development Agreement)
I hear ya. I would argue that the Team Lease and TSU Lease are germane to the overall lease and thus are critical to the public interest. If you read the lease (or just skim it), there is a lot of talk about the "MLS Team", MLS games, requirements of the team under the lease even though they are not technically a party to it. Which is why it would be critical to ensure the Team Lease conforms to the stadium lease.
I'm not sure at all that the Attorney General would rule the Team lease proprietary. I think it would be a good idea to get a look at that lease. If someone has it I'd like to see it.
Just saw this. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_...koff-england-mourns-death-of-speed-.html#more DEPORTIVO RESIGNED TO LOSING GUARDADO Mexican international Andres Guardado could soon be out the door at Deportivo La Coruña on a free transfer with his contract wrapping up next June — and Valencia along with Sevilla are waiting in the wings. I know we have no chance to outbid 2 big Spanish Teams, but hey Canetti give it a go. Throw a ridiculous offer at him and see what he says. Also, I guess it would be an overload of LMs. We could trade Clark or Cruz for allocations. I would still like to see Cruz tried at RB.
Clark and Cruz go to Montreal for Ching and allocation money. Allocation money is used to bring in Guardado. I can dream right? ...or maybe no Ching at all...
I know this thread is fun. But we should probably wait until we see who is waived or participates in the really entry draft to see what kind of cap room we have and how many positions are open.
Dynamo Theory says the Dynamo are interested in panamanian Blas Pérez of Indios de Juárez. They didn't say he would be a DP and I doubt he would be. He does look interesting though. He's 30, a striker and it looks like he has a lot of goals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blas_Pérez
I liked the way he played in the Gold Cup last summer. I think I'd rather keep Costly though. here's a youtube compilation: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm4a7JgN__w"]Blas Pérez Compilation #9 - YouTube[/ame]
does anyone think there is one, ONE good Euro who can stand up to the heat and physicality of the league? what about Algeria? Egypt?
Asia??? C'mon those Koreans and Japanese have some fast strikers! I've always thought Asian soccer players (especially from the countries I stated) are pretty decent and won't be expensive. I wouldn't mind an Egyptian or a Nigerian though
+1 to a Japanese player. They're speedy and quite talented, well the ones from the JMNT, and would make great AMs or strikers.
