I know that you can purchase long sleeve versions of the Dynamo jersey, but it would be interesting to know if the players have access to these. There have been a couple of games this year where opposing teams have worn long sleeve versions of their jerseys, only to see the Dynamo players wearing a white adidas longsleeve tight fit shirt underneath theirs. Some Colorado players were wearing their long sleeve jerseys tonight, but all Dynamo players who went long sleeve had on a short sleeve jersey with the aforementioned sleeves underneath. Is it possible that Adidas just failed to send the Dynamo long sleeve jerseys due to the weather in Houston and decided to sell the long sleeve jerseys to make some extra money? Just an interesting thought.
I've wondered about this also. I have a feeling it is a few players choice to play with a tighter fitting long sleeve undershirt, than a jersey. And playing in Houston in the heat, it makes sense to keep short sleeve jerseys in stock.
Hey, what's up, I asked that same question a couple of weeks ago, after one of the icebowls at Robertson this spring... I was wearing my long sleeve authentic jersey that I proudly ordered months ago, but no Dynamo players were wearing them. I noticed the same thing, the short sleeve with longsleeve undershirts. I gotta say mine felt good. Of course, at the last game, 90 at start time and blazing sunshine, it was just a little warmish. It might be going back into the closet until fall.....
Whatever the reason it looks semi-pro enough for us supporters to make mention to our FO that something should be considered.
Yea whats the reason? what the dynamo can't afford long sleeve shirts? I know AEG was cheap but this takes the cake.
Who cares if it looks ghetto or semi-pro? They beat the *&%^ out of Colorado. Go find a fashion forum or smthg.
AEG and the Dynamo don't have to pay a penny for gear... All team gear (Jerseys, shorts, socks, warm-ups, jackets, etc...) comes free of charge courtesy of Adidas as a part of their contract with the league.
I gotta say again, I love my long sleeve, I'd think the players would be thrilled to play in it in cold weather.....
How bout staying fuc{king warm??? They're wearing a long sleeve underneath so why the hell not have the adidas long sleeve jersey? USL it is understandable for a Southern club, but any MLS side should have full access to the gear that they need to stay warm in. Imagine that sports fans!
And again, why don't they use the long sleeves in cold weather? Maybe the equipment guy doesn't know it can be cold in Canada and Colorado in May and forgets to pack them. I'm thinking I'm the only guy with one. At one game I went to some Dynamo officials saw my jersey and said it was cool, they said they had never seen long sleeve jerseys and asked me where I got it. Maybe Dynamo should go shop at Socceer4All.
I just think it's weird that every other team in the league has them and we don't. Not that many players on our team can prefer to have an undershirt, right?
those long sleeves are "Under-Armor" and they probably wear Under-Armor because its alot warmer than the typical long sleeve jersey. though thats just my thoughts & 2 cents
but then again, it would be warmer still to wear that and the long sleeves. The only thing is, the sleeves are sort of tight and maybe they can't fit underarmor under them. They're too tight to pull up and wear short, I know that from trying at the last game.
Its part of the Dynamo grunge look. The playoff beards and the long sleeve shirts under the jersey. Kurt Cobain would be proud.
According to a source of mine, the reason the team doesn't wear the long sleeve jerseys is that adidas hasn't made and sent them any authentic longsleeve jerseys to wear.
Haha, I have one. It's definitely authentic, it has the gardetto or whatever you call it, it has the fluffy Adidas label, everything like the authentic short sleeve. Tell them to go to Soccer4All, they can get them there. Though today I had to resort to my retro, non swirly '06 jersey. Guess I'm about to break down and buy a new short sleeve....
