4 games, 4 wins. 12 goals for 2 against. Win away at Juve. You'd think this team was firing on all engines
RM often won CL while being shit in league. So its not impossible to win this tournament despite being shit in domestic games.
RM had Ronaldo, Modric, Casemiro, Isco, Kross, Bale, Ramos, Marcello... All in their best form. What does Barca have? An out of form Messi, Griezmann, Coutinho, injuried Busquest-Pique-Roberto, young players (none at their peak).
They had an aerial game they could rely on. We don't. And they had the ability to turn up intensity when needed.
Yea thats actually true. RM always sign players with great pace & stamina . The likes of Bale, Di Maria, Marcelo, Kroos, Isco, they always have that kind of players.... plus Ramos header and a bonus penalty for CR. Barca in comparison, we used to have a high preasure game, always hunt in pack to get the ball back and suffocating opponents by keep doing that, but that was over after 2015. Rakitic was great for like 2 years, but appearently doesnt have long term consistency of Xavi. Most notable decline in our pressing game was when we sold Alves and then Iniesta and Masche, we never really found their their replacement. Still, Chelsea won it in 2012 when they're not even in top 5 in the league.
Depends which year you speak of. As mediocre as Barca are right now they could still replicate LPB's 2016 run IMO. Especially this season when the likelihood of a lucky draw is higher than usual (I mean, just look at our group stage - gifted 6 points basically due to COVID).
I agree and other top teams in Europe look weak as well with the exception of Bayern. Our team no matter how poor can go up against anyone except them and come out on top.
