So the Dynamo launching some sort of new business-to-business networking initiative linked to companies or individuals buying season tickets and calling it a “Chamber of Commerce”. It’s something

“John Walker, president of business operations for the Houston Dynamo FC, told the Houston Business Journal that the club launched the Chamber of Commerce because it saw an opportunity to better engage with the Bayou City's robust business ecosystem.

"We thought that if we could create this chamber organization, bring small businesses together using our stadium and soccer as the platform, then we can maybe create some new opportunities for businesses to interact with each other and interact with us in ways they haven't previously," Walker said. "We think it can be a win-win."

Membership in the Dynamo and Dash Chamber of Commerce will be offered in three tiers. Top-tier members will receive four season tickets for Houston Dynamo FC matches on the east sideline, two club seats for all Dash matches, the use of a luxury suite for one Dynamo match and invitations for four quarterly networking events each year. Second-tier members will receive four east sideline seats for all Dynamo matches, two east sideline seats for all Dash members, invitations to all four quarterly networking events and the opportunity to present at a networking event. The lowest tier includes two seats to every Dynamo and Dash home match and invitations to three networking events per year.

The club continues to evaluate pricing for membership, Walker said.

"We definitely want to make it affordable, though," he added.

Our FO is at least thinking. That is one positive.
However, when packaging Dynamo and Dash tickets as something part n parcel to the membership in this new Chamber group, having the tickets actually used over the course of the season is the sign of who in the Chamber has actual fans of soccer. And really, then that is asking folks to come watch what most soccer fans desire, good, quality soccer down at BBVA. Which used to be on lock. Regardless of road form, our home form was positive, winning soccer. So this needs to be fixed first. Then many other sales points our FO think tank wants to move forward on will fall in line. We do not need to magically turn into MLS Cup finalists over night but our FO sure better get the rebrand correct with a whole new commitment to investing in players and a return to winning at home. At the Rob the stat was iirc .713 winning percentage in the first six (6) seasons.

I'm not sure it is a positive when this motley crew of corporate and marketing-speak FO folks actually think. What's next, making STH pay extra each time the club loses?

Basically - We are unable to attract anyone that is interested in buying full season ticket packages having lost a whole bunch of folks because our owners are unwilling to invest any of their money in actually trying to field a team capable of being a contender in MLS 2021.

So we have decided to try and go for the business community who might be able to write off the cost of the membership as a business expense
