Huge news. I love that Jozy broke the news to the fans before the media did

    ?????

He should get a ton of PT in the Prem. What's the problem? Hull are a decent side to.

So long as he's playing, I'll take it.

Yes, there are risks involved -- most notably if Hull finds itself in the relegation swamp and a defensive mindset takes over.

But Jozy will (theoretically) be getting a season of experience against some of the world's best defenses. That's not a bad scene in the lead-up to South Africa.

Assuming he stays on Hollywood Brown's good side.

Given the close shave Hull had last time, I wonder just how much patience he'll have with a young, American forward learning the Premiership ropes in the midst of a relegation battle.

It'll also be interesting to see what forward combination Brown uses. Altidore, Daniel Cousin and Caleb Folan are all of similar builds, so we'll have to wait and see just how well they play together.

Why? It's not like he's going to Newcastle.

I am going to cut and paste this from my post over in the Yanks-Abroad forum

MY dream lineup for the USA and their clubs

    GK - Howard - Everton
    RB- Cherundolo - Hannover
    CB- Onyewu - AC Milan
    CB- Bocanerga - Rennes
    LB- Spector - West Ham
    RM- Dempsey - Fulham
    CM- Jones - Schalke 04
    CM- Bradley - BMG
    LM- Donovan - Galaxy
    FW- Altidore- Hull City
    FW- Davies- Sochaux

So out of the 11 hopefully all will be getting regular minutes

    Nice breakdown of leagues too

    4 EPL
    3 BL
    2 L1
    1 Serie A
    1 MLS

It's also very possible Donovan won't be in MLS past January

I like the move and think he'll get plenty of PT against some great defensive players like Terry, Ferdinand, Carragher etc.

Good for Jozy, the kid is gonna do well.

    here
These are their forwards (I left one dude off & I don't want to go back and cut&paste him)

    7 Craig Fagan F 5-10 165 Dec 11, 1982 Birmingham, England
    27 Nicky Featherstone F 5-6 156 Sep 22, 1989 Goole, England
    18 Caleb Folan F 6-2 179 Oct 26, 1982 England
    14 Richard Garcia F 5-10 158 Sep 4, 1981 Perth, Au

Are any of their forwards good enough to keep Jozy off the field?

If not, he should get some service between Geovanni & Bullard.

What's up with the keeper on their roster, Boaz Myhill. He's listed as an American.

AWESOME! I didn't think La Liga was a good fit for him. He just doesn't have the finesse on the ball to play there, the EPL on the other hand is much better! I have a good feeling about this one. *cross fingers*

Hull were a train wreck last year and despite the feel-good aspect of the start of their season, they were just awful after Christmas.

    *DING*DING*DING*DING*

As much as I would like to see him play for Newcastle, they would be a terrible fit for him too (unsettled club, interim manager, moronic owner).

I want to be happy for him, as he probably will see a ton of minutes and be facing some of the best every week.

But, I have a feeling he'll have to learn a lot on his own, as I have no trust in the sideshow of a coach they have. Hopefully someone like Bullard or Geovanni takes him under their wing and teaches him how to be successful. Otherwise, he better have a good grip on his bootstraps, cuz he'll be doing a lot of pulling.

Hull is a weak team, but, looking at their message board, they seem very excited to have Jozy, which is good. It's nice not to have the ingrained skepticism normally reserved for American players in England. Fulham was not as interested, it appears even though they need depth in the areaand I was hoping to pick up Altidore to go with Dempsey. Oh well, at least Jozy will get major minutes for SA.

The key at this stage of Altidore's development is minutes. Of course, we probably said similar things went he went down to Xerez.

For worries that Altidore can't compete in the EPL now and that the manager is a buffoon, those problems would fix themselves if Hull get relegated back down to the Championship.;)

Is there any "official" Hull City news on this development ? All I've seen so far suggests this "news" (?) is coming from a player's "twitter" activity. Seems an odd news source.... seems to me Hull City and/or Villarreal ought to be giving him a scolding concerning unofficial news.

If he plays a bunch, then this is a good move.

Let's all hope he can use this season to get that first touch down a bit more. Looking forward to seeing him play and improve; most definitely pulling for him.

he doesn't have the 75% of games played for the usmnt in the last 2 years that the uk requires. he'll be turned down for a work permit. hull will then appeal. and they are not manu. so let's keep our fingers crossed.

i still remember my disappointment over bobby and spurs.

As a player under 20 with as many league, U-17 and U-20 and full national team caps as Jozy, he'll be alright. The fact that he's played as many qualifiers and his performance in the Confederations Cup should seal the deal.
