I'm not sure if I heared/understood it correctly, but when we make it on the 6th spot the rewards are going to be better than atm. If I understood it correctly in the new CL set up, pairing with our 6th spot appearance, the clubs that directly qualify for the group stage get as a starting bonus 60 million €€. If true, that would be a huge game changer for us, compared too the current money distribution.
I think your analysis may be correct. UEFA increased the amount of CL money to try to stave off the move by some of the big clubs to the separate competition.
That could tempt certain clubs to take too risky decisions. If one goes from the premise the top 3 (=entrance to the garden of money trees) are normally in exchanging order PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord, the temptation for clubs like AZ and Twente to give it a go to wrestle themselves in that top 3 line up, could be irresistable.
Of course this is how PSV got into financial trouble some years ago. they over spent and then did not qualify for the CL. It's one of the reasons Euro football is so screwed up. Other than EPL teams, everyone else has to scramble for money.
Unfortunately we're not going to claim the CL qualifying spot this season, but it's my firm believe if this Feyenoord crew could be kept together we would stand a very high chance of getting through the qualifiers this time.

I think you mean for the 2024-25 season. The allocations for 2023-24 have already been determined. No change for Netherlands.
^ Further to this, whichever nation is 5th in the UEFA coeff ranking after this season will receive 3 direct spots to the CL group stage. I think Holland has a chance because Marseille look weak this season, and of course Monaco have already been relegated to the EL (granted they might go far in that competition).

I think this could work well for AZ. Lahoz doesn't put up with rough and tumble football. AZ need to be on the front foot at the start and try to get an early goal.
