Dutch UEFA Coefficients

  1. Ajax did good business with reaching the EL.
Panathinaikos did us a great favour by eliminating Lens, which means France, instead of having 7 teams now are left with 6!

Sporting Braga did a, how is that called ..a remontada?...by preventing defeat and relegation to the Conf. League after being 2-0 down.
    upload_2024-8-30_11-46-20.png
That sucks, as they would have less points to gather with less matches in the Conf. League.

    6. Nederland (54.900)
    7. Portugal (50.316)

I feel like the draws are hard across the board for the Dutch sides (except for perhaps Ajax?) - not feeling good regarding the coefficient stuff.

    I agree.
Portuguese teams have started this season very well, with 10 wins and 2 draws during the qualifying rounds.
The Benfica - Feyenoord and PSV - Sporting matches will be a critical for both the teams and the coefficient.

I believe I will have good time here as a football lover and a coefficient addict :)

    Oh boy.:(
They changed the points earning with the new Swiss model format.

This is the renewed points distribution on the coefficient list: more than ever, the pressure is on PSV and Feyenoord

The coefficient list is very important for the Dutch clubs in Europe. This determines how many Champions League tickets the Netherlands can distribute among the clubs in the Eredivisie. With the new format of the European tournaments, the distribution of points on this list has also been overhauled. Here's what's changed and what that means for the points distribution.
In recent years, there has been a lot of polonaise in the Netherlands when it comes to the coefficients. Partly due to Feyenoord's place in the final and AZ's semi-final place in the Conference League, the Netherlands has collected quite a few points in that ranking. With the new rules, that seems to be going to be a bit more difficult. The Champions League will be much more important in the new system. Getting far in the Conference League yields a lot less.

    Change in coefficient points
In the group stage, nothing will change in terms of adding points. You still get the same number of points per match as before. Two points for a win, one for a draw and nothing for a loss. However, the points must be distributed among all participating teams in Europe. In the case of the Netherlands, this means by six. If someone wins, that club will get 0.333 points.

    Bonus points
The bonus points, which the Netherlands mainly won on, will be distributed differently. That's because the group stage has become one big group. You will receive different points for each place on the ranking. However, the differences between the three European leagues are huge.
    upload_2024-9-16_21-29-0.png
    upload_2024-9-16_21-29-42.png
The number of points must be divided by the number of clubs active in Europe of a country at the start.

Whoever finishes first in the Champions League takes 12 coefficient points, in the Europa League the number 1 only takes half: 6 points. The League winner of the Conference League comes off even more sparsely. They only gets 4 points. For example, there is a difference of 8 points between the Champions League and the lowest level. As a result, the billions ball is more important than ever. Even after the competition phase, the differences remain. Those who qualify for the next round in the Champions League receive 1.5 points, in the Europa League 1 point and in the Conference League 0.5 points. The Champions League finalist can thus add 6 points, those from the Europa League only 4.

    upload_2024-9-16_21-33-12.png
With three clubs in the Europa League and two clubs in the Champions League, the Netherlands must pin its hopes on PSV and Feyenoord for the time being. They are in the league phase of the Champions League and can therefore rake in the most points. To illustrate: if one of the two teams finishes in the top 24, they will already take more points than the club that wins the Conference League.

What a shocker - stack the cards in favor of the big leagues further.

The level of football journalism has gone down the drain towards just clickbaiting and no substance.
    Headline in AD Sportwereld:
Painful week for Dutch clubs: Portugal is fast approaching in coefficient rankings

    Results this round:
    Juventus 3 - 1 PSV
    Yildiz (21)----------------Saibari (90+3)
    McKennie (27)
    González (52)

    Sporting Portugal 2 - 0 OSC Lille
Gyokeres (38) Red card: Gomes (40/2xg)
    Debast (65)

    FEYENOORD 0 - 4 Bayer Leverkusen
    -------------------------------------Wirtz (5,36)
    -------------------------------------Grimaldo (30)
    -------------------------------------Wellenreuther (44/ed)

    Rode Ster 1 - 2 Benfica
    Milson (86)--------------Aktürkoglu (9)
    -------------------------------- Kökcü (29)

Are they really comparing the clubs we were defeated by at the same level as Red Star?
And forget Sporting was helped by a whole half against 10 men?
If we don't win against the likes of Red Star AND Benfica beats clubs of the Leverkusen grade, yup then we're in trouble.
But this kind of alarmist journalism is kind of them expecting us to beat both Juve and Leverkusen. How imbecil can one get?

A number of Turkyie clubs for AZ and Ajax!!! Let's hope Farioli and Martens get their teams prepared. Who do Twente play? We are also done in by not having anyone in the Conference league this season. Dutch league has to do better than just the top five. Even smaller Portuguese teams seem to show up to play in Europe.

  11. Completely forgot them:
    UEL, S 1 Woensdag Manchester United - FC Twente 25-sep 21.00 uur
    UEL, S 2 Donderdag FC Twente - Fenerbahçe 3-okt 21.00 uur
    UEL, S 3 Donderdag FC Twente - Lazio 24-okt 21.00 uur
    UEL, S 4 Donderdag OGC Nice - FC Twente 7-nov 18.45 uur
    UEL, S 5 Donderdag FC Twente - Union Sint-Gillis 28-nov 21.00 uur
    UEL, S 6 Donderdag Olympiakos - FC Twente 12-dec 18.45 uur
    UEL, S 7 Donderdag Malmö FF - FC Twente 23-jan 18.45 uur
    UEL, S 8 Donderdag FC Twente - Besiktas 30-jan 21.00 uur

  12. Twente too has two Turkish clubs to fight, Fener and Besiktas.

This EL stage is like an extension of the Orange Squad vs Turkey Euro 2024 round.

    Bloody limit.
Thanks, but no thanks to Lijnders with Red Bull and Bizot at Brest.
Lijnders got himself embarrased by 13th spot dwelling Brest with their Dutch goalie Bizot.
Would/should have been a coefficient matchpoint in our quest (yeah .. jeah I know) to overtake France.
