Oscar I was about to post the same thing re Makaay deserving to start when I saw your post. It would be a disgrace if he doesn't start - he more than deserves it. Certainly more than Ruud who has been poor this season and seems to have spent more time taking diving lessons than practicing football. RVN I thought both had been put on notice that if their club form didn’t improve they wouldn’t keep their starting roles. I haven’t been following La Liga, but RVN has done nothing to warrant a start. Hup, Makaay, Hup!
From what I've heard and read PK is doing ok (but not great) for Barca while RVN has been pants for the most part for ManUre (some niggling injuries but mainly just in bad form). In any case, Makaay MUST start!!!
The Holy Trinity I honestly think that any 2 player combination of PK, RVN, or Roy will do just fine against Auf. Makaay's been in better form than the other two based on his performance as of late ans I guess he does deserve to start. Nonetheless, he's not the #1 Oranje attacking option just yet. Probably never will be.
I haven't heard about any notice for the 2, but I don't think Advocaat will start Makaay over Ruud if he's not injured..probably the only reason Makaay got a starting place the last time even though he's blazing in Spain and Ruud..well...Zlatan scored more than him at the time, that says it all.

you only have 10 players. ur missing a defender im guessing. that looks like wut it should be but advocaat has been playing zenden as left back i believe (according to sum1, so he has an excuse not to use sikora) does any1 know if van der vaart is expected start or atleast play
Yeah, stupid on my part. Anyway, throw Zenden back there and I would give van der Vaart a shot at midfield. It's a friendly, he has plenty of support, and if he's stuggling, put in van Bommel.
Van Bommel injured himself in the game against Feyenoord and won't be playing this wednesday Hofland won't be there either. Instead Ooijer and van Bronckhorst will be wearing the orange shirt
Gio I like Gio but he's hardly been back from injury and hasn't played much so I'm surprised he got called up. On the other thand, Advocaat knows him very well so I guess that explains it. Anyway, good to see him back in the Oranje.
Yes, Zenden performs poorly for the Netherlands. You should watch one of his games in Oranje. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll think the hair transplanted on Advocaat's once shiny head must have done something to his brains that he'd still select Zenden to play for the national team. Sikora isn't great, but he would still be a better choice than Zenden as a left forward. I can't wait for van Persie to get a little more experience, then even the thought of Zenden playing will be laughed at like it was that picture of the little crying baby covered with spaghetti.

Zenden I think Oscar's being a bit harsh. He was quite good at Euro 2000 I thought though I agree otherwise he hasn't done that much for the Oranje.
It wasn't just one game, pretty much every game he has played for the Dutch in the last few years or so was bad to horrible. I hate the fact that more qualified players don't even get the chance to show that they would do much better than Zenden in the national team, when this guy plays badly every game and still gets selected the next match like nothing happened. So yeah, the answer is 'overall incompetence at the international level'.
Zenden Whose spot is he taking if he's being played in the back? If Zenden does nothing vs Germany other than keep Reiziger on the bench he's more than justified his place.
Zenden would play on the left while Reiziger is a right back. Who is he replacing? Well left back is a bit of a problem area for the Oranje (like right mid is) as Numan is now out of the picture and von Bronckhorst, who has mostly played left back for the Oranje, is only just getting back and in any case has not played LB that well as he's out of position. Bouma wasn't even called up though he is a left back and played for the Oranje in the most recent qualifiers. So I guess Zenden is not taking anybody's spot at LB as it's up for grabs. But I'd rather see Gio there.
