Hmm...I would guess at least 49.9 percent of the country doesn't get their information from Fox...or if they do...know to take it with heavy doses...not grains...of salt. But my point was that YOU shouldn't get your impressions of Americans from Fox News.

As for tourism....I'll go out on a limb here and guess that the majority of Americans that can afford vacations in Aruba are not going to cancel any plans because of this story. Yes, I'm speculating... but call it a decent hunch.

Is the Dutch kitchen related to the Dutch Oven?

Damn, now I'll have to cancel my non-existent plans to visit a desert island in the southern Carribean, all because of some idiot news network.

    Curses.

Everything I've seen on FNC always explains that the crime rate in Aruba is very low and that it's one of the safest islands to go to. I can't even imagine what kind of filthy vegan-lovefest they're having at CNN, so to say that the media is vilifying Aruba is absurd.

Just check the suicide rate for a comparable number.

Which is a big reason why the media initially picked the story up, because it's something that just doesn't happen there. Then they found out the girl looked moderately ********able, and ran with it.

But like yossarian points out, people who go to Aruba probably know better than to get all hysteric about it just because of the media coverage.

I have yet to hear a good argument as to why I should care about this whole thing.

Aruba seems like a nice place for a vacation.

Honestly, could someone explain to me why I should care about this?

I watched Fox news and that just blurred things further (or maybe that was the gin, who knows, we could monday-morning QB this thing to death if we wanted to).

Or -- if you really didn't care -- you could have let this thread die the death it deserves, instead of being the first person to bump it since yesterday.

I just want to say I like cheese.

Oh - and and why do you let some blonde you're responsible for go anywhere with a bunch of locals, whether you're having a vacay in Aruba or New York or Dollywood?

Resolved :Minimally supervised senior trips are a disaster waiting to happen.

Cheese is also suspected to be responsible for the fact that Dutch people spend more time sitting in the toilet constipated than any other people in the world. :D

Hey, I speak from experience. I visited Holland and I got the curse of the Dutch cheese. Quite the opposite from the Mexican curse, I should say.

Which one? The Dutch problem or the Mexican problem? I'd hate to take it for the wrong one. :D

No, no. Keep bumping it, please. I still need an answer to whether salted liquorice cures constipation or diarreah. I know it's 50/50, but I hate to think what would happen if I guess wrong.

It cures the constipation... with the added bonus of turning your stool into a psychedelic, tie-dyed work of art your can share with friends.

    Hope this helps. :D

Investigators search home in Holloway case
Authorities probe house of 2 one-time suspects in U.S. teen’s disappearance

So I would imagine if she didn't fall in love and assume another identity. Mutallation found here through the islanders. These boys, now men; probably had connection for that. Imagine extocey was a factor. There should have been an admitance drug test for inviduals once suspected in certain crimes but would imagine submitance with authorities.
Heck! I even posted couple years ago an article where a Jamaca or Barbados sent a cadaver in a hundred year old barrel of rum. Netherlands was mentioned with that one.
So one of the three probably happened. You just have to wait for the right circumstances to build. Maybe the samething that they work to get will come back in remorse... Old but still told!
