I made the changes above in the player list, except that Junior Hoilett doesn't seem to be in the player list? Should I add him to the list or is someone responsible for doing so?

Player List is dead .. It was only there to help with the draft. The one you need to update is the Squad List page which has everyone's team on the one page.

    NOTE::

Bally Boys FC has made a trade on FPL Forum to take out Alex Song and sign Nathan Dyer... this is a fair and legal trade and will stand. I have made a temporary adjustment to Google Docs and it is highlighted in red until it is confirmed.

However he made a pre- GW 1 trade in of Jagielka and he is on AC TIG roster. This can result in a Manual penalty of 7pts (Jagielkas score) and Bally Boys will have to transfer out Jagielka before the start of GW2. The fact that the guy he transferred out (Riise) scored 9 points, and that he will be penalised 4 points when he transfers back out Jagielka may be punishment enough so we may not do Manual adjustments... it is only GW1 afterall and everyone is new to this.

It is hard to judge at this point as i cannot see the trades made pre GW1 and the trade he made this week is hidden from me, but I assume it is the abovementioned Song> Dyer trade..o_O. I have emailed Bally Boys just to clarify what he has done, and what he needs to do to fix it and will post the final results here once I have that sorted.

The 4 points transfer penalty would still mean he benefited from the move but I guess that it will do, especially if we utilise some sort of "probation" system so that he will more severely punished if he does a similar thing later in the season.

The one thing that irks me is the fact that he posted the transfer in the GW2 thread when he clearly must have made the transfer before the deadline.

If everyone in the league agrees, you can make exceptions, but let's be clear about the rules:

If you have a player in your lineup who is an illegal player, the rule is that you lose any points that the player got, you do not get to replace the player's points (i.e., put in the points of the player who should have played or benefit from any autosub), and you must remove the player immediately.

Ideally, if someone posts an illegal trade/transfer, it gets pointed out immediately and the correction is done in the same gameweek that the trade was made so that the player never plays. This eliminates the need for manual adjustments and results in a 4-point penalty (unless the manager is on a wildcard, in which case there is no penalty, or the team has saved up a transfer so that he has two free to make, in which case the penalty is loss of the saved transfer). But, sometimes it doesn't get spotted or the trade happens too late in the week and there isn't time. If the trade to correct the error is made in a subsequent week, the manager must take a penalty that is at least as harsh as if the error was corrected in the week it was made.

If I'm reading this correctly, BB should have a 7-point deduction for points received from Jagielka and needs to move Jagielka out immediately if that hasn't already occurred. Since BB has already made one move this week, this will be at least the second transfer and thus a 4-point penalty will be done automatically by the system.

PS - i'm not buying that DrH doesn't have access; surely one of those octopi legs has someone's password so that you can see everything in Dust...

As I've always understood, if the post in the GW2 thread is time stamped before the deadline for GW1 has ended, this isn't legal. You cannot make transfers for the next GW until the prior deadline has passed. You cannot save/claim players in advance, which gives everyone the same shot, and, at least in theory, you are supposed to be making the manual transfer on the system immediately, which you obviously cannot do it the GW has not yet opened.

Since Dust is mostly new owners, I would suggest that you consider giving it a pass on this occasion and using this opportunity to clarify the rules for everyone, but it shouldn't happen again.

If someone feels differently, speak up. I'm not sure the proper solution. On the one hand, it could be treated as a valid gw1 transfer that was simply posted in the wrong place; on the other hand, it could be treated as an invalid transfer since it occurred in gw1 but wasn't posted there, in which case it should be reversed and Dyer goes back into the pot. If you opt for the latter, I'd suggest that a freeze be placed on him until a specific time, and like occurred when the trade window originally opened, there could be a race at that time to see who submits the request the earliest after the window opens. Again, if it's just a misunderstanding on the rules, I'd simply use this as a learning experience for everyone.

He posted the transfer in the GW2 thread on the 21th but he clearly had made the transfer before the deadline on the 20th as the player scored points in GW1. So it wasn't a case of claiming the player in advance, quite the opposite in fact.

Rightio... so much for the" let's wait until we talk to BB to see what actually happened idea"

A chain of events (as I see them).. to clarify what occurred.. so you guys can make an informed decision and stop throwing darts..
    • The Octopus strikes again... I do in fact have a log in for my mates account in Dust. He knows me well enough that I am not going to satisfy my trade cravings by trading on his team :p. The sole purpose of this is so I can do exactly what I have just done... cross check the Google Docs to the Teams and I need access to FPL forum to do that.
    • The claims that I "cannot see" were not to pretend I did not have a log in... but any trades made prior to GW 1 DO NOT show on Trade History so we cannot see what trades were made. Similarly, Trades made this GW2 are not able to be seen,, we can see how many trades a team has made (in Bally Boys case it is 1) but cannot see what they are.. hence my "blindness"
    • On the spare hour between 11.pm and midnight on Saturday Night, cutoff for GW 1 had come and gone and FPL site was back up. I checked all Sand Teams agianst Google Docs and all was fine.
    • I did the same with Dust and noticed that Bally Boys FC had 2 players out of whack... he no longer had N Dyer or Riise,.... and now had Phil Neville and Jagielka
    • My concern at the time was that he had made trades on FPL and not posted them anywhere...not FPL forum, not Google Docs and not Big Soccer. At this stage I did not realise that Jagielka was on another sqaud o_O
    • I emailed Bally Boys to tell him how it all works and to post the trade on FPL forum as that is where legal trades happen blah blah.... this may explain the delayed Post that Thezzaruz is referring to
    • Bally Boys emailed me back to say that he will fix it within the week
    • Yesterday I realised that Jagielka was on AC TIG and that the trade made by Bally Boys was illegal for another reason
    • I checked the FPL forum and noticed that Bally Boys has posted a double trade on there.... but not the one he made pre GW 1... he had Coloccini & Song out and Jagielka and Dyer in..
    • So his 2 trades combined (pre GW 1 and pre GW 2) has his midfield goes Dyer> Neville then Somg > Dyer so they seem OK $$ wise and everything
    • His Defence Trades look messier..... Risise > Jagilka and Coloini to Jagielka.. especially since Jagielka is illegal
    • I am presuming (trying to confirm) that the one trade Ball Boys has made THIS week is Song to Dyer and he still has the illegal Jagielka in his team
    • So if he takes out Jagielka and put in someone else (that is not on another team) his team will be back to being OK.
    • Once he does that, confirms the above is in fact what happened them we can decide the penalty. I agree with Blech and Thezzaruz we should give him a pass on this one but no further mess ups will be accepted.

    Starting to agree.... ;)

    Hi Denis

Can you please remove Jagilka from your Draft Team. He is an illegal player as another Manager (AC TIG) has him already. You have had him illegally for 2 Game Weeks now... that is now a 12 pt penalty.

Give the penalty for the 1st week, replace Jagielka with a player that scored 0 (Sunderland maybe) then let my mate take over his team ? Works in same office as I so easy to chase him along ?!!

So with the transfer window closed who are the players that suddenly got a value bump and who are the managers that have them?
Myself I took a punt on Carrol @ WH. Fat Sam will build a team to his strengths me thinks.

I added Nani and deleted Walcott. For some reason I have trouble editing the squad list on my Mac. If someone has a few extra moments would you mind editing the google doc? Many thanks.
