I've decided this morning that the only success is either top two or absolute bottom. Mid-table is off-limits. This adds to earlier 'wow draft leagues are still hard!' decisions like: 'If I'm not going to cut loose all the dudes who aren't playing yet, I can maintain a team value greater than 85 only by scrambling for tenths like...pigs for truffles.'

I opted for a stereotypically English battering ram forward line.

Morning Glory - No Aquero so ...... drum roll ..... Rooney is Captain, home against MCI, why not
Tangers - Hazard, the people choice on FFS I believe

    Rafalution - Ibrahimovic. Captain .....
AFC Ku - Costa, "Mr. I am picked on"
Dynamo - Lukaku, a new pick each week makes things exciting
    Vegas - Vardy, just because

A little bump up to 4th and 3rd in sight! Thank you Mr. Costa.

The boys at the top slowed at bit, and the boys at the bottom picked up the pace, especially Mr. Wilson with his captain getting a nice 34 points. Mr Costa's 24 points has already been noted. One yellow away from my Batsh*t getting some PT will Mr. Costa sits. Can I wait that long?

My "Bench Boost" added 3 points. Wow.

    Captain Report - week 5

Tangers - Sterling. An inventive pick that really looks good now that you see Hazard with 2 pts
Morning Glory - Erikson. Another inventive pick. The mother of invention is who?
Dynamo - Lukaku. And why not after last week. Up to third in the standings.
Yellowcake - Alli. Wow, this is a very "inventive" group here this week
AFC Ku - Walker. No Costa is the news here, but Walker was huge last so wt*
Rafalution - Iheanacho. Whoa, that this is getting to be a bit much. No Ibrah ....?
Vegas - Vardy. No idea there was a Friday start so he stays by default. Who else you might say!
Pork Soda - Giroud. Stays with him, but looks like no payoff AGAIN.

Not official if it's not in the proper thread. I was about to pick up Rashford, not having seen him taken...

    Tough league

Total points for all 8 teams in each league:

    Dust: 1874
    Very Small Rocks: 1867
    Small Rocks: 1845
    Sand: 1836

I look at transfers going on in each league. (Trying to see if someone has a good idea that I have thought of yet!) What I see are player being taken that are already owned by someone in our league. Makes it tough to catch up.

    Captain Report
    (After MUN destroys LEI 4-1)

Tangers - Coutinho. Off Hazard on to an LIV middie against Hull. Sure makes sense to me.
Dynamo - Lukaku. No change here. A lot of "color" in this roster. Reds and yellows indicating trouble.
AFC Ku - Rondon. Whoa, VERY creative here.
Rafalution - Mane. Off Ibrah.... on to an LIV middie against Hull. Sure makes sense to me.
Yellowcake - Sanchez. Had a chance at an LIV middie against Hull, but stayed with a hot guy.
Morning Glory - Aquero. He's back and hopefully the slide from the top ends today.
Vegas - Antonio. Off the LEI guys, which looks good after they get 1 point each from the MUN match.
Pork Soda - Payet. A lot of "color" on this roster also.

I too had a chance for "an LIV middie against Hull." Almost took Firmino. Looks like Liverpool is doing a "Middie Swarm." No forwards. If any of you play World of Tanks you will know what that feels like. All Middies, no Heavies.

I don't know where to post this, and I'm not posting it because he's my guy (my one remaining quality guy!)...

I hope people got to see the Payet goal today. Back when I was tormenting my poor brother with random highlight films, I once sent him the whacky 1993 JayJay Okocha goal:

Payet's was better! It started near the halfway line. It was like a combination of the Okocha goal and the Maradona slalom goal against England in '86.

I'll just hold up the bottom end of the All Rocks curve, if nobody minds... My unretirement is looking like Brett Favre on the Jets. :(

    Captain Report Gameweek 8
    (After CHE beats LEI 3-0)
Dynamo - Chadle. Interesting. Off the battering ram forwards.
Yellowcake - Sanchez. Against SWA it should be a field day
Tangers FC - Back on Hazard, who promptly scores.
Morning Glory - Aquero. And why doesn't he get more credit as a world premier forward
Rafalution - Ibrahimovic. Gotta happen soon for the big guy
AFC KU - Silva. Not Costa is the news (especially after you know he has scored) but he could do more
Vegas - Vardy. There is a certain freedom to knowing that your captain has got NOTHING
Pork Soda - Payet. He's the hot guy for sure.

What is more desperate than "desperate times?"

    Out: Pereyra
    In: Stanislaus M BOU 5.5

    Out: Jenssen
    In: Baston F SWA 6.9

So there went Payet off to the lovely city of Marseille. Au revoir, nice to have you for a few months, after you came back from the WC needing several weeks of rest. This just ties a bow on the season, woohoo!

    Piggy Draft
Kane - Injured, dropped by nearly all fantasy owners. Snatched by an owner who had a spare slot and spare coin.
Payet - Late start, then transferred to Marseille
Giroud - Late start, didn't get back to starting lineup until a month ago
Barkley - Mostly in the Everton starting lineup, occasionally dropped for poor performance
Wilson - Forgot I ever had him
Alderweireld - Hurt long term. Came back. Hurt again. Came back.
Butland - His ankle injury of a few weeks has now lasted four-plus months. Backup GK, no need to drop.
    Dann - Transferred out early
Antonio - Started as a fullback, dropped because of attitude. Came roaring back...for another owner
    Henderson
    Smalling
    Jakupovic
    Gudmundsson
    Jones
    Dawson

    Who remains on the team:
    Giroud
    Barkley
    Alderweireld
    Butland

Not to mention the Alonso debacle. Widely reported as injured, I drop him, he shows up to score two the next match. I suuuuuuuuuuck at this in 2016-2017.
