    Sooner the better!

And this is from the guy saying 'wait' every year, because someone might get signed. But after enough years of watching, those signings have rarely been worth holding back the draft.

You see where Mr. Jones is expressing an interest in starting Tuesday, 8/2.

My only questions is whether we can finish by 8/11.

I should say I question whether we can finish without hurting someone's feeling. We will finish. If it gets close we assign times for posts or we say you have to post 2 hours after the last guy. If you don't post, you lose your turn and we go on. When you do show up you can catch up, but the player already drafted are not available.

I will do my part one way or another so it does not impact me.

    Opinion?

I am good with waiting if that helps. By then Pogba may be a United player.

I keep chiming in as if I have an opinion, but my opinion is actually 'whatever!' Plus my brother can still whup my ass...especially when I take too long to make a pick! If we have to start Tuesday, and we have to do the 'musical chairs' thing in which you're left standing when the music stops, that's just dandy.

    OH
Ha, yeah, hurt feelings are always a danger. I guess we could go back and look at average length of drafts over the years, but I don't remember any taking 9 days. More than the late signings (who rarely figure heavily), it's the late injuries to key players that make a big difference. But that's the breaks. My vote for later is just selfish in that I'll be flying much of Friday and then in a national park S/S/M. Still, the resort should have wifi, and I could make use of proxies to keep up, so if I'm the only one wanting to wait, feel free to get it started. We could probably get the first 5-6 rounds done by the time I leave Friday.

PS: Some heavy hitters in Dust this year, man...tough year to dip my toes back into the world of Small Rocks! Seems like we've got more than a few former top division champs here. Should be fun.

It's easy to be a heavy hitter when you draft first, you get Lampard in his heyday, then you back into Danny Murphy and Joey Barton during their one good year. Other seasons, I was sweating relegation all year. And I beat the crap out of my brother past two years in open teams, so he's not much threat either.

(Preparing for stern look from Las Vegas.)

Nobody has created a Dust Division on the official game yet, right?

I just noticed the addition of the "chips" like Triple Captain. Is that new this year, or have they done that before?

Ok, it is my sense that starting Tuesday, or Monday night, is the deal. Just know that we will have to get busy that week to 9 days that we have to complete the draft. You just CAN'T be away for 6-7-8 hours without someone knowing what to expect. You have to be checking in 3-4-5 times per day.

Last chance. If you don't care, that's fine, but know that you are committing to being very active between 8/1 or 8/2 and 8/10.

First pick will be at 9:00 am, central on Monday 8/1. Starting SOOOOOON.

Morning Glory (Patrick O'Hare) starts. I have a proxy for Yellowcake Phantoms (Jay Jones), so I expect to do the work necessary to "Freeze" the player database and make the second pick within about one half hours.

Kurt, you can expect your pick, pick number 3, to come around 7:30am/8:00am pacific. And off we go.

My experience with this is that we need to try to end our day in the states with Rafalution (Ryan Gatt). That way the GMT guys can do their picks early in the day, while we sleep. Richard and I will set a time for our picks and try to get back to the GMT guys, Dynamo Teso and Tangers FC, for their second picks early enough the we can finish with Ryan again. Round and Round we go.

Watching the others is hard for me. You?

Well August 1st is a holiday here so I'll be home - though doing house reno's all day. But the good news for you is that even on my days off I wake up at an unnaturally early hour so 7:30-8:00 is typically when I am ready to start the day ;)

    3rd pick - not bad!
