Since I noticed that we have at least 1 Dundee fan in this forum, I thought to open a thread dedicated to this traditional SPL club as well.
yeah i guess thats there rivals in the spl since dundee got relegated, i miss seeing those fixtures, theres only the edinburgh derbya nd the old firm in the spl nowadays
According to the Online Courier (local rag for the Yanks) http://www.thecourier.co.uk/output/2008/01/23/sportstory10836936t0.asp Levein set to land De Vries at last DUNDEE UNITED are set to sign former Hearts striker Mark De Vries. The Dutch forward will be reunited with Craig Levein, who signed the player at Tynecastle then took him to Leicester City when he moved there in 2004, and will finally bring to an end the Tangerines’ long search for a target man. The 32-year-old De Vries was last night finalising a deal to leave the Walkers Stadium and is expected to complete his move to Tayside within the next 48 hours.
LOL unbelievable, 5 times we go up against rangers in 2 games and 5 times we squander the lead... 3rd place is looking more and more remote now, especially with the split coming soon.
please please please don't let those motherwell chancers get into europe, this goes for you too hibs.
I'm some what of a United supporter. I have a friend from Dundee that got me interested in the club a few years ago. I'm probably one of the only people in Chicago with several Dundee United jerseys (including their UEFA cup one from a few seasons ago). And my friend is running around Dundee with a US National Team, Chicago Fire and DC United jerseys. This season it has been exciting and also disapointing to follow them. I think their biggest problem in consistency. One week they beat Rangers and then the next they lose to Gretna. I hope they hang onto Craig Levein, he is a quality manager. It seems like they have a good youth and reserve team set up.
we will do our best mate, although with the whole Phil O donnell thing I wouldnt be upset if they got in. United is my 1st priority and I am hoping for good showings against Hibs, Motherwell and Aberdeen and at least 1-2 points out of the OF games to survived in 3rd. Well have a game in hand against Rangers that they may well win if they have to!
Can you give me some infos about Mark Kerr? There's rumours about BMG being interested in signing him... http://www.seitenwahl.de/content/view/1282/56/ http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/12802/kerrmark/default/2007/leistungsdaten.html http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/scotland/article3724331.ece http://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/output/2008/04/10/story11190947t0.shtm What's his strength & weak points? Do you think he has the potential for the 1. Bundesliga?
You didn't find something better for me, Fraser? Well, to be honest, I don't think we'll sign him ... since Christian Ziege is very close on getting the young Austrian national player Jürgen Säumel as replacement for Eugen Polanski (who will move to Getafe). Good night.
well from what i've seen of him he's a tidy midfield player but taking into account that BMG will be back in the Bundesliga next season i'm not sure how much of an impact Kerr would have on your squad.
Mark Kerr was a promising prospect when he was young, he has been prone to the odd brain fart (CIS cup final being a classic) Go for it mate as Levein will prolly sell him to ya for about 750,000
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/d/dundee_utd/7365553.stm March prize for defender Kenneth Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth has been named Clydesdale Bank SPL young player of the month for March. Kenneth helped the Tannadice club keep clean sheets in three of their league outings last month. The 20-year-old kept his place for the CIS Insurance Cup final but had to settle for a runners-up medal. There was further disappointment for Kenneth in March since he was sent off in the final minute of a 1-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle.
I don't think the chances for third place look very good. Looking back over the fixture list two games stick out that they should have gotten points from; a September 3 -2 loss and a December 2 -1 loss both to Gretna. I think they are a solid side, but need to be more consistant. Beat Rangers one week and then lose to Gretna the following. It would be nice to see them add a couple of players in the offseason. But doesn't look like they have transfer funds to do so. So will have to be through free transfers. Although the youth set up seems to be producing players and I think would an attractive place for younger players to go.
What a great championship party in green & white that was at Tannadice tonight! But congrats on giving us a tough fight until the end.
