http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE2orthS3TQ Always liked Northern Soul but never really got into the whole scene despite a lot of fellow mods really delving into it. I always thought the northern soul music had less depth than other sould music. But I have to admit I do like this song, and its great to see the dancers all modded up. Sure beats listening to those terrible emo bands. But I'm biased.
Wouldn't that be Welsh Soul? Whatever it is, I think she is pretty damn good and worth watching. And here's one to chew on, especially if the rest of her album turns out as instant classic sounding as Rockferry: her co-writer, Bernard Butler, is one of the most underrated figures in British pop music in the past 15 years. Go back and listen to Suede. Hell, go back and listen to McAlmont/Butler.
