Just heard on RTE that after a scan it is not torn Hamsting after all, apparently it's a bruised tendon in the back of the knee, probably from a knock. So there's an outside chance he might play on Wed, we'll have to wait and see. Not great news, but better than a hamstring for sure.
A knock on the back of the knee is far better then a hamstring anyway. Kerr seemed to think it was mainly down to tiredness, if it's a knee injury rather then a hamstring he may be right.
Seems a bit strange that it is a knock to the knee given that he pulled while running and no-one was near him.
I play rugby (winger/2nd centre/flanker) and have an ongoing tendon problem in my right leg... it kind of 'disconnects', it's a rare occurrance and is only painful at the time (it's like lockjaw on my leg). Anyway, even though it definitely isn't what Duffman had (because he would've collapsed for 3-4 minutes), it is possible to do minor tendon damage without physical contact
Hi Billyman, I guess we live and learn!! I used to play football to a fairly high standard (but i am getting on a bit these days!!). I was at landsdowne yesterday and saw him pull up/go down and would have bet the farm that he had done his hamstring. Anyway, hopefully he might make Wednesday. Notwithstanding that Georgia are not quite as good as Albania we sure do need him.
Duffman was a reference to a Simpsons character ("OH YEAH!") Hopefully he'll be good for Wednesday, if not Reid is an adequate replacement... why not play them on seperate wings!? AAAHHH! It's too obvious
Doesn't it feel weird to say that? It doesn't seem that long ago Albania was less than a pushover and Georgia didn't even exist.
Duffman is pelvic thrusting in the direction of the problem! class. I agree with you about Duff and Reid on the flanks too.
That must come as some surprise to natives of a staate that has been in existence for over 3,000 years and even have their own alphabet.
