I can imagine the majority of Chelsea and Blackburn fans saying Duff whereas the majority of Liverpool and Leeds fans would say Kewell.
I think Kewell is a better all round player personally, but it will be interesting to see everyones opinion.

Well - its kind of a silly question since its already been decided months ago who went where.

Its also safe to say both have underperformed compared to expectations.

    But I'll take Duff.

well, although I am a liverpool fan, i would still have to say that Duff is a better player. especially with how kewell has been playing as of late. It hasnt made too many LFC supporters happy, but when he is on his game he is a very good player, but i would probably take duff

No it's not. Duff has been fantastic this year, Chelsea's best attacking player after Lamnpard. Just look at how they have suffered without him recently.

I prefer Duff, but this run of injuries makes you wonder a little about Duff's future.

i might be wrong but he didnt get injured that much when he was at rovers, did he? what is it about players coming to stamford bridge and injuries? or is it just an unlucky streak for us?

I would say its a combo of

more matches, being asked to play in the hole where it can get more physical instead of wide left, and bad luck.

What on earth makes you say that?

Duff has proven to be an outstanding player for us, he has turned in some simply breathtaking performances this season prior to his forced absence.

If "expectations" were expected of him he by far exceeded them - we are not the same team without the lad.

He also carries his form to the national level when playing for the Irish.
He adapted to - and is the only player so far to excell in - the left side of the bloody diamond formation that Ranieri likes to use.

Really, i am quite astonished you would say that!

Kewell - he's had a bad year - 'nuff said.

There can be no question about it at all that Duff is head and shoulders above him this year.

I say that because I haven't seen him play all that often. He is either injured or coming off the bench. I figured him for an every day starter.

Since he's not been able to be a regular starter for whatever reasons, that's is why I saw he has been somewhat of a disappointment this season.

I just hope he gets back to 100% quickly.

oh he played a lot of matches before he got injured alright... he was either subbed or came in as a sub some of the time coz i think ranieri didnt want him to risk him too much. he was and is that important a player for us and cant wait to see him in action again.

must say tho that kewell wasnt helped by houllier playing him on the right... mind you, duff did in the beginning as well didnt he? for a few games at least.

Mark the time. Mark the date. You saw it here first people; Clanblue praised something Irish - a new dawn is upon us...

I assume this relates to the fact they were just on the cover of "FourFourTwo". So, to go beyond just what they've done on the field, and judging their personalities by one interview given at an adidas press conference, I would say Duff by a furlong.

Duff came across as a guy who just wants to play soccer and not be bothered. He said all the right things about playing for Ireland and was praised by everyone who knows him.

Kewell came off as a whining SOB, who (with his agent) screwed Leeds and doesn't give a fiddler's what happens to his old club.

It might be telling that Duff left Ireland at 16 while Kewell left Australia at 14. Undoubtedly, Duff has had much more contact with family and friends who have helped him mature.

Of course, maybe Kewell had been out the night before and Duff hadn't. As far as their playing, I think Kewell is really starting to contribute now at Liverpool and he was a hell of a bargain. But, I'd still take Duff.

Better a dislocated shoulder than a massive chip on your shoulder.

When Kewell gets over his dream of playing for his boyhood team (he supported Liverpool as a kid). When he gets that fantasy routine out of his system and wants to play in the Champions league and for a team challenging for the title. I say we buy the lad. Kewell on one wing and Duff on the other :)

That said, Duff is for me the better player. My fave Chelsea player to boot.

Duff is a better footballer, when he is healthy. Kewell is a little more consistant with his health than Duff.

I think Duff's better too, but expect Robben to challenge him for a spot in the first-team next season.

Duff is far better than Kewell, and always has been. Duff has the ability to rip defences a new arsehole on his own, as his last two seasons at Blackburn had shown. Kewell just doesn't have that ability. Hopefully he'll return to Blackburn when his contract is up. Unlikely, but I can only hope.

Duff is an exciting player. Hope he stays fit. Kewell seems to have had better days.
