Medical exam scheduled: As Sky Sports report that Duane Holmes is poised for a medical at Town tomorrow, here's a reminder of Wayne Rooney's recent words on the #htafc targethttps://t.co/CqtwKGWDHS— Huddersfield Town - Yorkshire Live (@ExaminerHTAFC) January 21, 2021
Safe to say that Wayne Rooney is not Duane's biggest fan at the moment. I hope Huddersfield stuffs Derby the next time they play with a hattrick by Duane. I have a feeling Duane won't have a problem celebrating those goals if that happens.

Love it. Happy for Duane that he's going Holmes. Derby Co is a shit show at the moment. I don't know whether Rooney will help them sink or swim. Rooney's recent comments about Holmes work ethic in training makes me think that was Captain Rooney's perspective which bled over when he became manager. Previous managers never mentioned that about Holmes. Sometimes a player's perspective on work ethic is different than that of the manager. But.... that's in the past. Duane has moved on. The Derby Co era is over. He gets to move to a club higher in the table and to a club that's close to his heart. I have a good feeling about this move.

Holmes playing an attacking central midfield position. Huddersfield dominating possession as Stoke is a man down and appearing to just be hoping to hold on.
Holmes has mostly made a lot of relatively conservative passes. Shaded very much toward the right side of the pitch. First seriously aggressive pass was a well-struck cross between the striker and keeper that Phillips didn't anticipate and couldn't reach.
Holmes and Pipa short passing sequence ends with Pipa missing the near post after a nice turn. Would have been game-winning assist, but no such luck.
Full time 1-1. Holmes didn't really put a foot wrong ... but didn't really put a foot right either. Putting my scout hat on - not looking like he belongs anywhere near the national team or premiership midfields unless he can play with more pace than that. But nice clean skill game.
