All these short youth players make us look just like Barcelona. More accurately it makes 5 of our prospects short, not look like Barcelona.
Man he looks like Michael Jackson in that website photo....No one wants to be DEFEATED! Anyway he should probably strengthen those chicken legs if he's going to wreak further havoc in that league...
Man love the way he runs at the defense. He made a great pass for the goal, but that was one hell of a finish too.
Game today at Middlesbrough. Holmes has taken Huddersfield fans by storm. http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-manager-mark-robins-6111353
Some really nice passes and vision from the kid in those highlights. Hopefully he picks up some more first team games this season.
That coach is nuts if 'Sup's performance the last 2 games doesn't earn him minutes in the next game or two. Not saying start the kid but it's a merit-based business and on the merit of his performance he's earned more playing time.
I wonder why he has such a strong connection to the USA (as implied from some of his tweets) if he was raised in England?
From Bshredder's story on the front page... "Holmes is still in close contact with his father and returns to the United States every year to see his family. Despite carrying both American and British passports, he has never represented either the US or England internationally. The US U-20 team is hoping to participate in this summer World Cup in Turkey with qualifying set to begin in just a few weeks. Holmes has never been in contact with US Soccer but he does hope that Championship minutes this season could grab the attention of US U-20 head coach Tab Ramos when the World Cup approaches. "I've always wanted to represent the United States because I am American and that's where I'm from," Holmes stated emphatically. "I've always had my heart set out on playing for America, to be honest."
This might explain it a bit as well (re: Huddersfield): Like many former mill towns, Huddersfield has a higher than average number of residents from ethnic minorities. The white population makes up 81% of the population comparing to 91.3% for England as a whole. The largest ethnic minority group are those who have described themselves as being Asian or British Asian originating from the Indian sub-continent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) with 10,837, or 8.9% (compared to 1.4% for England as a whole). An ethnicity summary of the town's 121,620 population is 98,454 (81.0%) white, 15,072 (12.4%) Asian or British Asian, 4,328 (3.6%) Black or Black British, 328 (0.3%), 259 (0.2%) Other and 3,131 (2.6%) Mixed.
just saw the highlights vs blackpool.. boys quick and put 2 nice passes in transition. note to self: avoid mancrush until after i see more than 1 youtube video.
He's on the bench today for Huddersfield.. Join the chat in the today's Championship Gameday thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/championship-gameday-10-1-all-rs.1994877/#post-28777021
On the bench again today vs Watford. Field is down 2-1 at half so we may see Duane come in to create a spark in the 2nd. The coach seems like he likes to move his young players along very slowly.
General consensus is that he added some creativity and was a good sub. "Seems OK. Adds a spark and imagination but seems to be pushed off the ball at times. Only natural I guess with his size and inexperience. He'll learn." http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/86649/town-watford-match-thread?page=2#ixzz2grx6BgMP
Despite the loss on Saturday, Huddersfield manager Mark Robins was full of praise for Holmes http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-v-watford-fc-6147212
