NOT IDEAL IF TRUE Someone told me recently that the idea he was unwilling to consider the US program is not true. There was never contact. We never even tried. https://t.co/AKQaLeqMha— USMNTProspects (@ProspectsUsmnt) June 8, 2025 Goalkeeper is our biggest issue yet the federation made zero effort to recruit Zion Suzuki, who is turning into one of the best young goalkeepers in the world. Now they’re being just as lazy when it comes to Nathaniel Brown. When will this change? https://t.co/n1HorLXfbU— American Ultras Talk (@usmntaut) June 8, 2025
Ok so they show up when I quote them. Strange. and I’m not buying stuff like this when it doesn’t come from a journalist with a rep to uphold. If berhalter was one thing, he was a thorough, dedicated recruiter of dual nats. This is just an attempt to fan the flames of the perpetually angry segment of the fan base who are always looking for something to get upset about.
The first person (the one reporting it not reacting to it) regularly posts on BigSoccer so you could confront him directly if you think he's making it up "to fan the flames of the perpetually angry segment of the fan base who are always looking for something to get upset about".... just saying.

Koleosho sighting Italy’s current generation is bad enough, now they have Burnley benchwarmer Luca Koleosho starting for their U21s. I feel bad for Italians. https://t.co/WacofbzBJQ— American Ultras Talk (@usmntaut) June 11, 2025
Koleosho was third lowest rated starter by Fotmob but not sure we have a leg to stand on there. Wonder if he’s still recovering from his injury - surprised he was not more influential last season given how good he looked before the injury.
Unfortunately Koleosho hasn't been the same since his injury. I'm not sure what is going on with him. But his injury recovery did take longer than expected, at some point there was an issue there... I only watched him before the injury when he looked pretty promising and the advanced stats liked him, I don't watch much Champo so I can't comment on how he's looked since.

Damion Downs cap tied You can't say Downs wasn't good enough for 🇩🇪 at any level. Did quite well in Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, & DFB-Pokal when given the chance. The Bundesliga outfit were hoping to generate some revenue from the sale of the €4m-valued Japanese youth international. In the end, however, Chase’s continued struggles with a torn adductor fiber incurred in March led to the transfer’s collapse.
Yeah Chase was seen in crutches in Japan last week so it might be a while before he's ready to suit up for anybody. He completely fell out of the first team squad months ago, so hopefully this deal can be revived after the CWC.
After watching this season, his first healthy one in a while, and most recently in the Club World Cup. I'm going to say something, that with my signature, makes me a bit of a hypocrite, but: Inter Miami's Ian Fray is a better RB/CB combo than Freeman or Harriel. Call him up before Jamaica cap ties him.
Fray’s problem has been every time he starts to get momentum he keeps getting injured. But he’s definitely at least a January camp call if he keeps this up.
Jamaica has approached him multiple times, and he's still uncapped. Some of that is down to injury (he was in the 2023 Gold Cup provisional squad, but got hurt that year). However, he has publicly and recently made it pretty clear he will be keeping his options open: https://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/sports/20250312/frayed-loyalties I think both the player and those around him understand that a place in the USMNT isn't unrealistic, and he's still pretty young (23 this summer). The math does get a bit messy for him because he's in that classic no-mans land a lot of solid players find themselves in: good enough for the USMNT radar (January Camp), but not really a lock for the real competitive tournament USMNT. Jamaica, their shambolic group stage showing in this ongoing 2025 Gold Cup aside, is a surer path to World Cup minutes. Jamaica will go through this fall if they can win a group including Curacao, Trinidad, and Bermuda. That's no guarantee (ask the Canadians how easy the Curacaoans are, and then check the shaky Jamaica showings against Guatemala and Guadeloupe, each peers of Curacao in capability), but it's certainly doable and it's about as clear a WC path as anyone not named New Zealand can have. And Fray is good enough to make Jamaica's team today. He plays in multiple roles where Jamaica needs depth. He wouldn't be a locked in starter but would make every 23 and definitely get games, with the chance to become a starter down the line. He'd have certainly started at least one game in this 2025 Gold Cup were he in the side given the injuries Damion Lowe, Mason Holgate and Isaac Hayden have suffered. So if he commits to Jamaica now (I think he'd need to be on board in fall to be ensured a summer 2026 place), there's some WC upside. Jamaica will probably go and he will probably play. But he is on the USMNT radar. There's room to work his way up that ladder - maybe it's a bit late to make a run for the USMNT's WC 26 pool, but anything can happen - he keeps playing well, a few guys get hurt at the wrong time but he stays healthy (which I understand is not a given for Fray, I'll get to that below), etc. And, even if he doesn't make it for 2026, he could work his way into the pool for the 2027 Gold Cup, the next Nations League qualifying sides, and maybe push on from there and find himself making competitive appearances in his prime and earning a decent number of caps. And if it doesn't work out and he's still not getting USMNT calls come 2027 or 2028, Jamaica will still be there. Right? Well, maybe. With his injury history, and the naturally transient nature of the game and of player pools, a Jamaica cap can't be guaranteed in 2030. As I noted above, Fray makes a Jamaica 23 now but he's not a lock for the XI, Jamaica has some solid players, even without him. And that pool can grow in 4 more years. Fray, while good, is just not the caliber of player who can automatically be penciled in indefinitely as soon as he makes a decision for Jamaica - if he was, we wouldn't even be having this conversation and the USMNT would have locked him up already. Maybe a non-cap tied 2028/2029 version of Fray who has just fallen short of his USMNT ambitions but is still a very solid MLS player can make Jamaica's 2029 Gold Cup squad...but maybe not. And maybe he's hurt at the wrong time and it doesn't matter. And maybe he was cap tied in a single 2027 Gold Cup group stage win over Guyana, never seen again and his international career is already over. So he may get just one shot here. As noted above, Jamaica will want a decision by fall most likely, and certainly before January camp at a minimum. If he decides to pass on that, there's a real chance he doesn't get another opportunity like it again, and ends up in true no-mans land - no real competitive USMNT time and no Jamaica World Cup time. So is passing on the WC opportunity Jamaica presents now worth it? It's actually a very tough decision. I don't blame him for taking his time.

I think with Jamaica if it starts to look like they’re going to qualify there’s a good chance they get some of these guys who are uncertain off the fence. Very few players turn down an actual World Cup when it is offered to them.
Jamaica (and some of the other island nations) have had some issues when guys pop up after qualifying to then take a roster spot. Even the US turned down Earnie Stewart when they made the WC in 1990. Will be interesting to see how such a move might impact the team if it happens.
