Damion Downs just scored an amazing goal for Köln. Does he have his own thread somewhere? I can’t find one.
any one have any updates on Justin Che? The dual-nat panic for him was real for a couple of months, and there was even chatter about him stepping immediately into USMNT first team spot.
He's been going 90 for Patro Esden Massmechelen since his loan for them. They're also in the playoff for promotion to the Belgium Pro League. Edit, they're actually in the finals Wasn't healthy at Brondby but I also kind of get the impression that it seems like clubs are viewing Che more as a RB to CB which probably lowers his ceiling a bit
In fact that may be the most likely outcome in terms of probability, except that Portugal would likely cap tie him even if he wasn't good enough for them, just because he's Ronaldo's son.
If it's anything like Jordi Cruyff's career he will get plenty of chances at big clubs and at some point put together a good half season that gets him a handful of caps to subsequently drop like a stone in the depth chart.
Kicker reports Red Bull are interested in Chase.
List of "Flop" Dual-Nat Gets Thought it be fun to throw out some names of D-N players who committed to the US, but ended up not really contributing as expected: - Taylor Boyd - Bernard Kamungo - Timothy Tillman - Julian Gressel - George Bello - Emmanuel Sabbi - Jeremy Ebobissee - Dom Dwyer - William Yarborough
Not sure I would count some of those... was George Bello ever not going to play for the US? Kenny Saief Teal Bunbury would probably have had at least 25 caps for Canada And how could you forget Gedion Zelalem
Not sure he's gonna be eligible before 2027 unless he has family roots in Canada. This would be acquiring a new citizenship and he needs either family to have been born there or living in Canada (5 years for someone who starts living there at 18).
I don’t think he does. Article says the government would basically fast track citizenship for him under Section 5(4) of Canada's Citizenship Act which states, "the Minister may, in his or her discretion, grant citizenship to any person to...reward services of an exceptional value to Canada."
I think we just got to accept Pochettino has a different attitude on dual nationals. It’s just the way it is. Which isn’t a huge deal from a short term hire.
Canada can do what they want regarding citizenship, but FIFA rules say you have to meet criteria to be eligible. Unless he has family born In Canada, he has to have 5 years of residency.
