"I think he can go as far as he can conceive in his mind." Nate Weiss, former VfB Stuttgart technical coach From a skysports article https://www.skysports.com/football/...kely-rise-and-a-birth-of-fire-in-the-bernabeu
Good for us if neither of these dual nats are rated by those other national teams... Despite these good numbers, I think Peter van den Berg doesn’t rate him. Got zero minutes in NED’s September friendlies and didn’t make the final cut for Euro u17 qualifying despite outperforming certain players who made the roster in the same league. https://t.co/ykelaOrd7m— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) November 7, 2024 From the outside looking in, it seems Moriyasu rates J-League CB Kota Takai ahead of Chase. But yeah someone from US Soccer needs to be on the phone if they aren’t already.— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) November 7, 2024
Put some respect on CCV's name. Don't count him out as a top 5 USMNT. Richards, Chase, CCV, McKenzie, Trusty ... not bad!
I'm a bit down on CCV cause of recent performances with the USMNT being poor, but I also maintain between him, McKenzie, and even Trusty (not including Chase yet but he'd be right there too) the CB position is better than given credit for
I will count him out. He's just too slow and too unathletic for it, I appreciate everything he did for the U20 QF run in '15 though.
Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever been impressed by his usmnt play. And he seems like a mistake waiting to happen every time he’s in a 1on1 situation defensively. I’m glad he’s made a solid pro career for himself but he’s not good enough for our national team.

I don't know exactly what this means but: "Per straight_red, the talk between Anrie Chase and Pochettino has ALREADY happened. The discussions have begun." 🚨🚨| Per @straight_red, the talk between Anrie Chase and Pochettino has ALREADY happened. The discussions have begun.#USMNT pic.twitter.com/oj1Nb2AtwB— Anrie Chase Propaganda (@Ping_WasTaken) November 8, 2024
I don't think we will hear any respectful reporters about what players Poch has talked to, especially knowing that a reporter leaked Poch to the USMNT months earlier. Nathaniel Brown is a very good LB. I heard he wanted to play for the USMNT last year, but Gregg didn't call him up. We could win him but for now, he is with Germany U21. Anrie Chase, There's no reason why Japan would not call him up. Especially knowing Takehiro Tomiyasu is injury injury-prone player and who knows how Hiroki Ito will be when they come back? Luca koleosho who knows what he is thinking but as far as I know he is staying in Italy. Those are the names Edgar, Straight Red Card, and many other people have said Poch has talked to. 👀🇺🇸🔜 https://t.co/cyP5Vwvw9d— Andrew 🇺🇸🇩🇪 (@Andrew_S04_) November 8, 2024 It's Chase right?
Sunday is also really late for a release of a roster. They are either waiting on a one time switch or hedging themselves on an injury situation.
There is no reason to wait to release the roster if a one time switch is in progress. You can call someone into a camp without a switch. They just can’t play games until it’s processed.
From what I've heard on Brown, he was willing to commit but the idea was for him to play with the Olympic team
So many people have $hit on this source but @29 also seconded the post @andrew that a player was in the process of putting in paperwork for a one time switch. On the 20th of October 29 posted that he (Poch) had already met with the best one available and had another meeting soon.

The person you're citing to also claimed it's not Chase. Although he then deleted that tweet as soon as Koelosho was called into the Italy U21 Camp.
Naturalized MLS player... does Luciano Acosta have his US citizenship yet? If there is indeed a new dual national in the USMNT roster, I think it has to be either Anrie Chase, Damion Downs, or a naturalized MLS player. I was never convinced that those reports were true in the first place, but we won’t know for sure until Sunday.— American Ultras Talk (@ameriultrastalk) November 8, 2024
yeah if that cryptic tweet about a dual national switching has any weight, it's Chase. Not being called up by Japan would be inexcusable by them.
FIFA rules say you have to remain 5 consecutive years in a country prior to taking a new citizenship. (They specifically address the same situation in the rules and the 5 year clock would have restarted for him on his return in 2021). Unless the rules change or they come up with a waiver, he has to wait until 2026.
