Who do you think Edgar Moreno is? How is he involved in the sport? There is literally nothing he says that indicates he has any kind of sources or insider knowledge of anything whatsoever. I find it amazing how people pick up some random twitter posters and decide that they're the gospel for information. There's a multitidue of these guys. If its not Edgar Moreno (if its his real name), then its some other guy. My favorite was Charlie Kennan. A person who didn't actually exist. How an active Air Force serviceman became the victim of a USMNT catfishing scandal It's as if I started a twitter feed and started behaving as if I have insider information. I don't get it. I really don't get it. If some rando twitter poster keeps saying things that nobody in the mainstream soccer media is saying, then I'm skeptical. Its like the QAnon of US soccer. These twitter guys who keep implying that they know "what's really going on" behind the scenes.
Bayen "have Koleosho on their list" according to an actually reliable source 🚨🔴 Excl | FC Bayern have Luca #Koleosho on their list ✔️The 20y/o right winger from Burnley is a potential transfer target for next summer and has already been discussed and analyzed internally.Koleosho is under contract until 2029. Vincent #Kompany knows him very well and… pic.twitter.com/DIQfPrhyqQ— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) November 4, 2024 Some skepticism but Koleosho was quite good last season before his injury so who knows 1853497545118589339 is not a valid tweet id The Luca hype is crazy. I see the talent/explosiveness, but he's never made it through a professional season without a substantial injury and he has never produced a ton of goals. A lot of projection. A lot of risk. https://t.co/BAJyzFpXE2— Marcus Chairez | US/SC (@USSoccerColl) November 4, 2024
So if Luca does choose us, does that roll Pulisic out right, or does Luca roll out right? Feels liek both would need to be on the field at same time.
I doubt he is anywhere near going to Bayern. Haji is more productive by a wide amount in the Championship. Where are these "ton of goals" that they speak of?
If Sargent could be healthy, he would have been a premier league player this season (via purchase). Haji Wright is going to have a second good year in a row. He Will be a premier league player next year. You dont have two "well above average" years, stay healthy, and stay in the Championship. Not in this market.
Production at different clubs doesn't really tell the whole story for players. I've seen Wright play with the nats enough to know I'd like to be able to see some other people as well.
Were you watching the last time we played Jamaica in 2024 when he came off the bench and scored two goals for us to win in stoppage time?
As far as Haji is concerned his hands may be tied this window because of injuries toe Josh and Flo. Pulisic will be played where ever Poch thinks he can get the best out of him and the team.
The biggest difference is that people have talked to him in real life, and we can all hear his voice in an X-space. You can question his sources and he will not always be 100% accurate but there are things that he has said that were true.
Luca Koleosho only just turned 20. And we know he has physical tools. Needs to turn tools into consistent production. I take a story like that with a grain of salt, but its also not the first time we've seen him connected to a big club by a "reputable reporter." Michael Olise is now at Bayern. What was Michael Olise doing as a 20 year old? He had just moved from Reading to Crystal Palace.
As of right now if Haji is a winger then Luca Koleosho is a depth player but if Haji is a CF and Pulisic is a CAM then Luca would start.
Let's remember that Haji Wright was in the wilderness for years. Did almost nothing in Holland for VVV Venlo when he was older than Koleosho is now. [Also a dual-national of course. Liberia if my memory serves me correctly.] Development isn't linear sometimes. There are players who are great right at the off. For others the path is much more meandering. I'm not SO bothered by what Koleosho is doing. His injury was pretty significant. Sometimes a player is back, but not BACK. If you know what I mean. And yes, if he was flying on all cylinders and moving to Bayern...........our chances of convincing him to make a one-time switch from Italy probably do decline precipitously.
The hype around Koleosho is a classic case of propping up a dual national. In reality, he's in the same tier of the pool as Cowell and Paredes, but the dual national intrigue turns him into a starter somehow.
The more I see of him, the more I start to think this as well. ATST, as we get closer to this mystery being revealed, I am starting to think it is Koleosho and not Chase. I realize that Poch actually already has a relationship with him from Southhampton days, and Tac said on his channel that Poch recently met with Koleosho. I think he's the mystery "senior player who filed a OTS"
Koleosho could turn into something, or he could not turn into something. He's a lottery ticket, like a lot of these prospects are. Prospect being a latin word meaning "hasn't really done squat yet." He's a fall 2004. if he was on the roster for the recent Mexico game, he'd have been the youngest player by two years (because Pepi was sent back to Holland). In fact, very few players younger than him currently have caps. There's Esmir, who is no longer in the pool. And Wiley, who is a couple months younger than Luca. That's it I believe. Could be wrong. We've had some young players called in that don't have caps (like Kochen). If Poch and our scouts want him, then go for it. Give him a look.
If thats the case, which is entirely believable and valid, red-teaming it, if I am him, I am signing on with Canada. Id take starting minutes over spot minutes
Canada has some pretty strong attacking depth in those positions too, though. Maybe he could take the place of a bench player like Shaffelburg, but then again Shaffelburg seems to play pretty well for them. [And he's been linked with a move to Europe.]
My personal opinion is there's no guarantee of a senior spot with Canada or the US either. If I was advising Luca, I'd suggest staying on course to play with the Italy U21s next summer at the European Championships (which they've already qualified for). Then make a decision after that. That team has matches in this November window. If he's not on that roster, that'll really make us take notice.
And he might make a move to a better league over the summer, whether through promotion or transfer. He'd have a stronger case for inclusion with whichever national team if he starts next season well in the EPL.
