I think the longer Balogun stays at Arsenal the lesser the chance he makes it with England.

An ‘03 CB. He came off the bench and scored.

I think it's important that we root for the success of the players who are playing for Mexico. I know that a lot of people want all of them to fail, but I think thats detrimental to our program.

If Araujo is playing for LA Galaxy for 15 years as their starting RB, thats obviously not good for the next up and coming RB in the academy. If Ochoa is the starting GK for Real Salt Lake for 15 years, thats obivously not good for the next up and coming GK in the academy. We should want to see these players move to another club outside of MLS as soon as possible, so their spot could open up (potentially for a young American). If Alvarez goes to Europe soon, that probably means more minutes for Dunbar (or eventually Valdez/Alcala).

I think it's also good to see as many American born players succeed at the club level as possible. Even if they aren't playing for us, it helps these young kids to see players from the USA succeeding. Most of these kids are not like fans that only care about seeing players succeed that play for their NT. I'm sure that many dual-national Mexican-Americans love to see the success of Pepi and Ochoa. They likely don't differentiate. It's a tough decision for many of these kids as they love both countries. It is also good for the perception abroad of our development system. A scout for Juventus or Bayern Munich likely doesn't differentiate a player playing for USA or Mexico like we would.

Also, it may help Mexico decide to produce better players in Mexico if a lot of their best players end up being American-born kids. That should eventually help us retain players, if Mexico produces better players. I don't mind if people root against these kids when Mexico plays the USA. They should, if they are USMNT fans, but I don't see how it helps our NT program at all when I see people making fun of an Ochoa blunder or Alvarez having an anonymous performance.

They both will be sold pretty soon no matter whether we root for or against them. Rooting against them is way more fun.

I know he's out of the age range for the board right now, but its shocking to me that Alex Zendejas has been called up to the senior Mexico camp for a friendly in November.

I'm more convinced than ever that the Mexican federation has just put an emphasis on having Mexican-Americans in every camp just to grease the skids.

I'm not convinced Alex Zendejas would make a USMNT midfield of only FCD academy products, much less get a USMNT call-up.

PL2 is a waste of his time. Arsenal needs to get him out on loan to a decent level since they dont have European matches and the rotation that comes with it

I’m generalizing here, but I think the caliber of English these dual-nats from Europe, Asia, or South America speak can be a window into their potential interest in playing for the USA. If they don’t speak the language, the chances are reduced IMO. If they are fluent, I think the chances are higher. Aydinlik does not have an American accent, but he’s fluent and he speaks at a pace that shows he’s very comfortable with English.
