Drogba is more physical and has got better pace. When he's one on one with the GK he shoot straight to the goalie. He packed more power to his shot but he isnt a natural finisher and processed a poor 1st touch. He can be mark out of the game just like the UEFA final against Marseille. All brawns but little common sense. His is too direct, more like a old fashioned CF which is more suited for the long ball game.
Defoe is fantastic, I was amazed by the quality of strikes eventhough the service at Spuds were mediocre. It's imposible to mark him out of the game becos he is so slippery. Fantastic 1st touch, excellent ball control, fast on the turn and lethal. He is instinctive, a natural born striker. The only thing lacking is his physique.

He is the missing link in Chelsea jigsaw puzzle. With the service provided by both Duffy and Robben he might even break TH scoring record.

I will agree that Defoe is sublimely skilled, but he was a non-entity in the Sept. 19 match, that much I do know.

Defoe was/is "marked out of a game" all the time.

Drogba is deffinetly a better striker than defoe, but what youve got to remember is that defoe is only bout 21, and is aready the about 7th top scorer in the prem and hes still got a lot of football to play, one of the great strikers for the future.

Hey I love Drogba from his Marseille days, and I am sure he will be a great addition to Chelski. But lets be realistic about his chances here... he already missed half the season, and is on a squad with numerous finishers.

He is better than Defoe, although Defoe has a lot more upside that I think Drogba had early in his career

drogba has been awarded "best player of the year 2004" by the french readers of onze mondiale .
« Je suis ravi d’autant que je ne m’y attendais pas du tout. C’est le genre de récompense qui montre que tu as réalisé une super année. En outre, il n’y a rien de plus révélateur que le choix du public.»
" i'm glad and i didn't expected that. It's the kinda award that shows you made a very good year. Elsewhere, there's no more revelating choice than the public's choice."

It isn't that much of a mismatch.

    Personally I prefer DeFoe.

Obviously you must mean you would prefer seeing DeFoe on Sunday instead of Drogs in his blue shoes, but no such luck.

DeFoe is a good talent but better than Drogba, as the wise philosopher said, "wtf".

Defoe might just be the answer to Chelsea scoring woes. At these crucial stages we need more goals from open play instead of relying on JT and Lampard. Defoe "a fox in the box" will compliment Drogba more direct physical approach. Remember the Lineker and Beardsley, the bigman and smallman partnership?

Please explain which "woes" a team that has scored the second most goals in the Premier Leage has. I guarantee you 18 other clubs would be lining up to get that disease.

We need more goals fr the target man instead of relying on set pieces. Against determined and more resourceful opponents, Chelsea struggled to create clear chances from open play. 2 seasons ago remembered the Hasselbaink & Gudjohsen partnership?

While it is understandable to want your forwards to score, why fix what is not broken? Goals are still coming (at a good rate) and you lot rarely give up more than 1 so what is the difference?

Perhaps it is the case of to many forwards and not enough room on the pitch/injuries,etc.? No one can work out the rhythm or the timing to find each other? That comes with playing together and learning each other's styles of play.

I dont know nice... considering how Chelsea has been playing the past two months, and all the money you've spent to build the current team, I'd expect an average of 5 goals per game, not 4
