Has anyone played this game yet? Both Gamespot and IGN gave it poor reviews (5.4 from both sites I believe) but I will probably end up purchasing it anyway. The Driver series has always been one of my favorites and I am curious to see how this one matches up to the other games in the series.

I picked it up the other day. I haven't had a lot of time to play it, but it's a pretty sweet game. If you liked the other ones, you'll like this one. One difference in this one is not all the missions are strictly driving missions. I'm still early in the game, but you'll get out and cap a few folks in a couple of the first missions, so I assume there's a lot of non-driving missions.

I picked this game up two days ago and am about 15 missions in. The reviews were spot-on when they said it has one of the worst on-foot controls ever in a videogame. The shooting parts of the game are nearly unplayable. There are also a lot of stupid annoying glitches. The driving missions are quite fun and I enjoy driving the motorcycle (although it's not nearly as fun to drive as the motorcycle in Vice City.) I only recommend this game to people that thoroughly enjoyed Driver and Driver 2, as this game is very similar and just as glitchy.

I got this one a week ago from Gamefly, and the only fun I'm having with it is just driving around the cities, not doing the missions. There are a lot of annoying glitches that are tolerable when you are just driving around (because there is a LOT of places to go to and explore) but I can't tolerate them when I'm on a mission. The on-foot controls are the absolute worst I've ever had to deal with, and that's saying a lot. There are a lot of cool cars, and the driving controls are really well done overall. Some of the cars are just a little too touchy, but that can easily be solved by not driving those cars. The graphics are really good, and the cities are recreated beautifully. Overall, this isn't the worst game out there, but it's a real disappointment to me, and I loved Driver and Driver 2. Rent before you buy.
