My fellow beer lovers, I know that many amongst you enjoy a gentleman's half of Brown Ale now and then but sadly if some Scottish arseholes get their way it will be no longer the beer we know and love. Some genius has decided that after moving production from Newcastle to Gateshead a few years ago this wasn't saving them enough money so they are now proposing to move production 100 miles south to Tadcaster, South Yorkshire. This move is due to the plant at Dunston only operating at 60% so in a twist to normal protests I'm not asking you to boycott it but asking you to drink more and tell S&N of your love of the beer and wish to keep it in it's natural home. It probably won't do any good as nothing has been known to stand in the way of a Scotsman and saving a couple of quid but we can give it a bloody good try. Chin chin!
I have a certain fondness for Newcy Brown... Alas, the same thing happended to Boddington's. Can't stop "progress", I guess.
