Some MIND BLOCK has PREVENTED me from typing out the ONE TRUE NAME for our youngin Mappy! I blame a certain moderator!!!!! I'M CALLING YOU OUT REVELATION!!!!! Here's a US Soccer report on Mappy & co. with Rongen in Spain. Rongen seems quite happy. http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=20931&itype=
Uh oh... I'm imagining Revelation reaching for his shirt pocket right about now... Someone is going to see yellow!
So does that mean The Cartographer is the right name? The Cartographer is a really cool nickname. Does anybody think The Cartographer will get some playing time when he returns from U-20 duty? Dave
Dave! How did you write that name? Watch what happens when I do: The Carevelationisgod Damn. Messed up again. You'd think another member of the august all-powewrful secret moderator society such as myself would be immune from revelation's evil, twisted power plays, but no siree bob. I admit it. I'm a beaten man. revelation is all powerful- at least until the next World Cup comes around. ursula shakes fist in rage while a long fade out of threatening, impotent music is heard by all readers of this post.
Who's Justin Mapp? Oh, you mean The Cartographer? Skip, I think I can solve your keyboard problems: Get a Dell... Dave
what good is a nickname that's longer than the name? a bermanism would be best like Justin "Road" Mapp.
I prefer "Mapp." You can add any catchy/trite addenda you like, but it's still Mapp to me. For instance, UVa had a very good basketball recruit injured who should be playing now whose honest legal name was "Scientific Mapp" because with a last name like that, you know he's gonna get teased like that anyway. His brother had some funney name too ... Geologic or somesuch. Anyway, the kid has technical skill, physical speed, physical size and is a very promising young prospect. He's been getting international experience for a few years now, and he's succeeding and refining his game against the best his age has to offer (and usually a year or two older) as well as college teams and now MLS competition. I'm very pleased we added him. -Tron
I'm glad you guys clarified the title. I came here expecting a full blown discussion of Cartman's adventures in Spain. I'll leave it to others to determine which of the DCU players most resembles Cartman, Kenny and Chef.
There was also Bas Relief "La Cartographe" Mappe, who had a few good years in the French League. Any relation? Dave
Our young fellow went 80 minutes for Coach Rongen yesterday as the U20s moved into the final with a 3-1 vicotry over Uruguay.
Yeah, that's right, sry, I had a brain fart and couldn't remember Majestic. But now that you mention the name I realize that I had them twisted around, my bad. But I still like calling Justin Mapp "Mapp." One name is fine and that's an easy one. -Tron
Ya know, kidding or not, I disticntly recall a guy named Scientific Mapp playing point guard for UMES back in around 95-96. I remember this because he tore Howard's hoops team to pieces. Not that this was a hard thing to do back in those days.
Hmmmmm.... calling a player by his last name..... that might, just might, catch on....we'll of course have to run it by the revelation censor committee first.
