Dallas Burn hosts open house tonight. Now, I understand playing in Dragon Stadium while the new stadium is being built. In fact, since it's near my house, I bought a season ticket package for the first time. However, the field turf at the stadium is permanently marked for football. I understand the difficulty in erasing those lines, but the soccer lines are almost impossible to see. Additionally, the football goal posts remain in place, including right in front of the end zone bleachers. The Burn have no plans to remedy either situation. Am I wrong, or: 1) This will infuriate paying customers, and 2) This will make the Burn seem even more Mickey Mouse nationally.
There's a preset endgame for the Burn now, so everyone with an ounce of insight is going to cut them slack on this. Few people complained about the Oilers / Titans in Memphis, or the Hurricanes in wherever the hell they were playing before their permanent home was built, because they knew that it was only temporary. I would be more concerned if Frisco was not there. As it is, I'm not concerned at all.
The posts (uprights) come down, but the main support stays. I think this pales in comparison to a black penalty area. Gawdawful sight... but this will be beauuuutiful!!!
