haha WOW. I apologize if my comment was taken as a critique , i didn't mean to come off that way . I just don't agree with the LATINO or HISPANIC tag labeled on mexicans/central or south american's. IMP if you are from Mexico you are MEXICAN, if you are from Honduras then you are HONDURENO or even an ancester of the MAYANS ( if you care to go that deep into it ). Just like for things to be called what they really are and not what "OTHER" people say they are. Get my drift compadre?? Anyhow , back on topic. Don't think we need another DP but meh it woudln't hurt. I like what Jedimaster said earlier about us getting another DP. Check up a bit , he said it nicely
Wow..almost everyone has gone out of topic here! Anyway..I like the idea of Totti as the 3rd DP. However, he is 34, so not much of playing years we can get from him. I just hope, if he comes, he will be as good as we expected of a DP in every game. Come to think of it..I think I prefer Forlan more. He is still fresh from his best days. Heck, he can still be considered in to be in his best days, I think.
Sorry to interupt the American Ethnic Studies class that broke out in this thread but ... Goal.com is reporting that Claude Makalele is in LA negotiating a deal with the Galaxy. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/69/t...-makelele-negotiating-with-los-angeles-galaxy I know with news is coming from a website that has a track record only slightly better than the SUN, but if this is true it has totally blindsided me. Here we are thinking of strikers and the Galaxy is talking to a defensive midfielder? Now I know Claude is one of the best of all time at that position but he's 37 and is that position a real concern for us? He also doesn't seem to fit many of our DP requirement categories. Also I really don't know if he would play for less than DP money. This news would be concerning to me if not for the fact that it's being reported on goal.com. So on second thought continue on with the ethnicity, race and nationality discussion!
Unfortunately, it seems that with AEG, this is what constitutes a discussion on likeliest DP candidates.
Not True - it's even more appropriate and specific than Latin (which would include Italian, French, etc.) ... but American Ethnic Studies aside I don't care where a players comes from as long as he - she ? - makes the team better and makes for a more enjoyable to watch type of football.
Makelele would be awesome but who knows how what type of form he is in. I dont watch the French league so I dont know how he has been doing. I hope though he isn't our DP signing.
This wouldn't be to bad would it. St Angel CF LD CAM Juninho LM Cardozo RM Beckbum CDM Makelele LB Dunivant CB AJDG CB Gonzolla RB Franklin P.S. The one on the right "Adios Mio, pero que kulo tiene ella!!!!!!!!
Cardozo likes to play in the middle CAM and is left footed but i still think the Lopez kid is coming which is a left midfielder
Sorry, more appropriate?? Depends on who you ask, that's why i clearly stated that "hispanic" is an incorrect way to refer to MOST people from the America's. FYI Most people stem from indigenous bloodlines not European/Spanish etc... Anyhow, I apologize for sidetracking the thread. Makalele?? I dont know about that move, we need a playmaker in the middle. Totti would be good, more so since he's already been quoted as saying that he would be open to coming to the MLS.
Makalele would be a terrible move. We'd give DP money to a guy that could play maybe another season at his age while we would let a very productive player like Buddle go. We have old guys. Save that DP slot for someone that is worth it. Sorry, but I am hoping that is merely a rumor and nothing more. I'd be very upset with this move. Might as well sign Pele next!
If Seattle can find a Fredy Montero, why can't our scouting dept. find a similar type, I liked Claude but he is no longer the player that he was but if added to the coaching staff then he would be welcomed with open arms. Seriously, our team is lacking some good and dependable depth and speed. Speed, Bruce, we need to get faster and quicker! We are too slow especially up the middle in midfield and the backline although AJ would help in that dept. Did we not learn our lesson when Omar and Berhalter got left in the dust/ exposed by Cunningham, Ferreira, Cummings and others.
eventually I hope they do. But AEG is bent on atleast having one highly marketable and proven DP that is more for marketing than for onfield success. I'm sure that they'd love to have two Mega stars but would settle for one mega, one star but more for field success and an american. THis will go on until atleast a few years more.
Any purist of the game should despise the commercialism he brings. You can't debate his love for the game but question his priorities and loyalties. Thus far in concerning our most beloved he has been like a disinterested whore. Is this what you want for your money? On a marketing level he's been a blast. On the field he's been not like "Golden but Blue Balls" for us. SO NO! Go back to England you cheap hooker dressed in an escorts gown.
Gee thanks guys. I don't know wether to accept that as a compliment or a whitewashed insult knowing that TJ has been blocked by nearly 3/4 of bigsoccer over the years. I am not him but I assure you every one will feel the urge to add me to their ignore list every now and than. @KOA, sorry for the reply on the other thread I was being an asshole. Now would TJ apologize, I pretty sure civility to him is like what "RUSH" is to "OBAMA"!
Agreed, Makalele makes no sense. But i've learned to trust Bruce Arena's moves, maybe he knows something we don't. It's true, we are an old team. We need to get younger and i don't think we've addressed that this off-season. I think Gonzalez will flourish this season being that he's getting some training with the USMNT, i trust our backline just think we lack another playmaker and a good young forward.
Watched "A" is a gross understatement. Porn inspires me so much ! I feel guilty sometimes that I never pay these girls I watch for being champs, despite taking so many stick(s) that are coming at them from all walks of life. Truly the unsung hero's of our society.
