It's possible but two highly unlikely things would have to happen.

1) The club would have to pay north of a 100mm in this economic climate

2) p$g would have to agree to sell

 

I think eventually PSG will come to the table ask for 180m just to show that they have tried..

 

They're gonna approve a transfer 59 minutes from deadline just to make sure we only sign Mbappe and nobody else. Maximize the damage to our summer transfer plans.

 

How crazy you are all who think we have any even mininalistic chance to sign mbappe...we need a reinforcment in attack...but we shoukd look for some cheaper options available

 

Signings Mbappé for anything for £90m would be a disaster. Just wait till January. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a transition season regardless.

As far as i can tell from what i read we've been in "transition" since Ronaldo left, the two main players who were supposed to help make that transition smoother, one bought in one already here well................... haven't

 

How the transfer market could go;

1. Flo is giving Carlo some to assess the squad. Are there any players that can be salvaged for this season? They are under the assumption that Hazard and Bale are here to stay - so, it’s going to be Mbappe or Bust for the attack. Does Carlo think we need a reinforcement for mid/defense? If yes, someone a few has to go. Tricky, but manageable. Jovic is loaned. Maranio stays. Isco stays. Ordi sold/loaned. Marcelo stays. Asensio stays. Ceballos is loaned/sold. Rodyrgo is loaned. Kubo is loaned.

2. Need to get the Varane deal done before any other moves take place.

3. In the last week of the market we strike a deal with Rennes for Camavinga. Either a buy with loans back for a year, or we ship out some of the deadweight to open a slot.

3. No Mbappe, unfortunately. PSG are not going to sell.

4. Last minute flurry of rumor and news that Haaland is coming. Ultimately it never happens.

5. We sign someone for defense off the radar - total random for 20 mil.

6. Big Soccer Forum melts down.

 

For me, this edited version of your original post makes for extremely depressing reading

 

Tbf we start every season thinking were fighting to win the league, the CL and CdR, and we got closer than many of us imagined we would or frankly deserved. If we had focused on league, I think we could have won it. Honestly, we didn't have enough of a squad for our ambition.

 

Of course, but being in the financial position we are, it could cripple us going forward

 

I am happy that's always the approach from the team though, no matter what, gotta at least try

 

Agreed, I'm just pointing out that even if we didn't win anything last season we showed up and fought late into 2 of 3 competitions. If that's a transition, I'll take it. We're not arsenal or united, we have ambition every season.
