From Philadelphiaunion.com "A state-of-the-art 18,500-seat Major League Soccer stadium will serve as Philadelphia Union’s home. As the catalyst for aspectacular $500 million waterfront revitalization project, the stadium is expected to "KickStart Chester" They need to read the context better next time they report.
From what I've heard, he has seat in 136. Can we confirm his name on the SoB list, I would gladly pay for the refund of his membership.
This pissed me off. If they are going to announce the price tag for a stadium that at least 1 in 3 doesn't want anything to do with, the least they could do is not report the price at 400% of the actual retail price. We would have better luck getting Drew Carey to tell them how much it cost.
The Link cost $512 million back in '03 and holds nearly 70,000 and they think the 18.5K seat PPL cost $500 million, very poor reporting, perhaps they should take a refresher course in journalism.
The entire development on the River and around the stadium was supposed to be $500 million. Somebody didn't read her entire press release before doing her job.
Jim Rome can be douchebag of the day (or longer). I almost broke my 52" LCD when he spent all of two seconds talking about the US prior to the start of the WC. His show has been replaced by highlight reels. Piss off. Oh, and it's $500 mil for the entire city of Chester redevelopment. 1/5th went into the stadium. There's no such thing as journalism anymore just shooting from the hip.
Douchebag today: Kyle Martino, during the ESPN2 broadcast of Houston @ TFC match said that when Landycakes scored vs Algeria that so many people were tweeting and watching replays that "it actually crashed the internet". Yeah. The whole internet. As if it's a single thing that can 'crash'. Just to make sure the point got across he said it twice. What an effing tool. If you want to go back and catch it for yourself on replay (ESPN3.com has it) the quote will be just when they come back from halftime break. It's ~1:09:40 on the timer on ESPN3.
You know, he actually said it correctly - "Le Too" - when they showed the team's lineup/formation before the game, but throughout he reverted back to "Le Tuh".
BUMP I would like to nominate the asshole who thought throwing a beer off the upper deck of RFK was a brilliant idea for DOTD. Not only did this jizz guzzler get himself thrown out, and almost get himself thrown off that same deck by a certain Fulham supporter I know, but provided the Black Eye on an otherwise perfect showing by the SoB. We outclassed our DCU counterparts, and were louder than they in their own decrepit building. If anyone else has any brilliant ideas on how to make us all by association look like hooligan thugs, do us all a favor and jump in front of a bus.
to be fair, the person who was ejected apparently had both hands on a waving flag and claims innocence, meaning that there may be a weasel who let someone else take his bullet
Today's douchebag of the day is reaaaaaaal easy: Scott 'I'm-an-antagonizing-asshat' Barry. Burn in hell, you POS.
ha ha...despite the "I'm a tough guy" stance...you know he was shitting his pants wondering how he was going to avoid the fans after the game.
hope he enjoys the journey back to the minors after this series. dude's as useless as a broken condom.
