I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I was wondering what, if any, double headers are scheduled for the Crew this year? Then I would like to suggest that the Crew bring the U-17 team to Columbus as part of one. I'm sure a "Crew/Adu double" has already been covered on these boards so can someone status me. My thought was that maybe young Mr. Adu would like playing in Columbus so much that he would make it his future home at least for a year.
You do realize that MLS and the USSF splits the gate at double headers, right? We can do 16k on our own, why would we want to split a 24k max gate w/ the USSF?
you wanna see tastefully done nude catholic school girls field hockey team over freddy adu? okay, okay, okay...i agree...
C'mon, fid, I thought you of all people would get the reference to the old ESPN The Magazine ad with Kevin Garnett and Stephon Marbury.
i got it, i got it...just trying to have some fun. your flyers got screwed being placed out in washington. this pod crap in the ncaa's is a joke.
Re: Re: Double Headers? You people in Ohio always worried about money but never have any. Who cares about the gate? I don't care if there are only two people who pay to get in. As long as I am one of the two that get to see Adu play. Your extra 8,000 people who will shell out $10 a seat. That's $80,000. WHen Adu goes to Europe, he'll be making that per week. I am talking about entertainment. Maybe it would be nice to see a real talent play for once instead of Jeff Cunningham. ANd if your concern is $$$, then I figured if any state would know how to exploit a young black superstar it would be the state of Ohio. Afterall you did have Lebron James. And you sqeezed every penny out of his hands.
What are you Freddy Adu's little brother? First of all money is important. You obviously are too young to understand how this works. Second of all don't come to these boards going on the offenseive because we'll expose you for the sack of $h1t that you are. So go back to the skating party or digging for that prize in your happy meal, because unlike you, we aren't that worried about lining up to see a 13 year old play soccer. ......What's wrong with kids these days?
Could the state of Ohio be any sadder of a pro sport community? Football = Bengals - finished last in the NFL Basketball = Cavs - trying to finish last in the NBA Hockey = Blue J's - probable to finish last or next to last in the NHL Baseball - If only the Reds or Indians can finish last That would make a major four sport sweep for the state of Ohio. The Crew are the only bright spot on the pro sports horizon. Bring on the Crew and college football.
Too young to understand how this works? I have been a member of these boards longer than you. I just only post when I have something intelligent to say. Expose me for the sack that I am. It's really sad to see that you can't back up you arguments with anything but name calling. The state of Ohio really knows how to use it's money... please refer to above post of great Ohio sports teams. Now please expose me. I can't wait to hear what you have to say.
Posting on message boards make you smart? You come on here wanting some Freddy Adu mania and nobody responds with what you want to hear so....you start bashing Ohio. You come here making suggestions but...who the hell are we? We don't work for the Crew. And saying stuff like "I don't care if there is only two people there" Ask Wimbledon how good it is having only 2 people show up. You're not very smart.
Re: Re: Re: Double Headers? MLSfan7, I disagree with just about everything you say. Get your facts straight next time (with the exception of Jeffy, which you apparently did some research).
We are all now dumber for reading your comments. May you live a miserable life and God have mercy on your soul. Mods, lock this crap thread before it gets worse. I'm restraining from joining the fray as it is. Take away the temptation PS: who gives a flying fvck about a 13 year old? Is this gymnastics now? tell me when he goes pro, and then I'll pay some attention. Oh yeah, I'll bet you a 6 pack (if you're 21) of choice beer that if he goes to Europe, first season he won't even play a top-flite minute in a major league. He'll be riding the pine and practicing with the reserves. I don't care how good he is, he's American, and that's what they see over there.
I'm telling you, he's going to hit puberty and get two left feet. Can you imagine how many people are going to jump of a bridge?
