    GW26 = Champions Round 7

CHAMPIONS ROUND – Morning Glory (29 points – gw26) **FIRST STRIKE
    Summary:
*[No Strikes (3) = Pingree Park Rangers (--), Real Newark (--), REVEALED: Starboy XI (--)]
    *[1 Strike (5) = Living in Dreamland (gw20), Seagullz (gw21), Journeymen (gw22), Lokomotiv Lewisham (gw23), Morning Glory (gw26)]
    *[Eliminated (1) = Tangers FC (gw24,gw25)]

    Round *7* scoreboard:
    *Living in Dreamland ---- 82
    *Journeymen ----------------- 67
    REVEALED: Starboy XI -- 65
    Pingree Park Rangers --- 64
    Real Newark ------------------- 51
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 49
    *Lokomotiv Lewisham -- 36
    *Morning Glory --------------- 29

It's the first time since gw10 that Morning Glory has failed to get to 40 points.

Of the remaining DE-Cup teams, Starboy now has the longest streak of 40 or more points per gameweek, going back to gw14. All of the other teams have had at least one sub-40 week during the champions round (from gw20-gw26).

During the champions round (gw20-gw26), Lokomotiv has 4 weeks with 40 or fewer points (including this past gw's next-to-the-bottom finish), and PPR and RNewark, have each had 3 weeks with 40 or fewer points. Notably, despite multiple gws with 40 or fewer points, PPR and Real Newark still don't have a first strike!

At the other end of the table, the top 3 shuffle this gw but remain the top 3 for the second week in a row.

    GW27 = Champions Round 8

CHAMPIONS ROUND – Morning Glory (25 points – gw27) **SECOND STRIKE - Eliminated
    Summary:
*[No Strikes (3) = Pingree Park Rangers (--), Real Newark (--), REVEALED: Starboy XI (--)]
    *[1 Strike (4) = Living in Dreamland (gw20), Seagullz (gw21), Journeymen (gw22), Lokomotiv Lewisham (gw23)]
    *[Eliminated (2) = Tangers FC (gw24,gw25), Morning Glory (gw26,gw27)]

    Round *8* scoreboard:
    Real Newark ------------------- 62
    *Living in Dreamland ---- 61
    REVEALED: Starboy XI -- 45
    Pingree Park Rangers --- 45
    *Journeymen ----------------- 41
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 36
    *Lokomotiv Lewisham -- 32
    **Morning Glory --------------- 25

It's back-to-back strikes for Morning Glory, and who follows Tangers with consecutive strikes for elimination. Three teams still with no blemishes, but another warning that strikes can come quickly.

The bottom 3 remained in the same order for the second week in a row. Lokomotiv and Seagullz best sort things out.

    GW28 = Champions Round 9

CHAMPIONS ROUND – Living in Dreamland (43 points – gw28) **SECOND STRIKE - Eliminated
    Summary:
*[No Strikes (3) = Pingree Park Rangers (--), Real Newark (--), REVEALED: Starboy XI (--)]
    *[1 Strike (3) = Seagullz (gw21), Journeymen (gw22), Lokomotiv Lewisham (gw23)]
*[Eliminated (3) = Tangers FC (gw24,gw25), Morning Glory (gw26,gw27), Living in Dreamland (gw20,gw28)]

    Round *9* scoreboard:
    REVEALED: Starboy XI -- 72
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 65
    *Lokomotiv Lewisham -- 58
    Real Newark ------------------- 51
    *Journeymen ----------------- 51
    Pingree Park Rangers --- 47
    *Living in Dreamland ---- 43

    Another elimination. Only 6 remain.

Dreamland was second from the top last GW, but ends up at the bottom this time. At 43 points, this was the highest strike in the champions round so far (although there were some higher strikes in the late rounds of division play, including Dreamland posting a 45 to lose the VSR final showdown). Dreamland picked up the first strike of the Champions round back in the opening gw 20 and had stayed clear of the bottom since then. Indeed, Dreamland never was second from the bottom in any of those weeks. But a blank from Haaland (c) was no help, so captaincy shifted to (vc) Joao Pedro (2*2). Who would've known that Welbeck (9) was the way forward????

After two weeks second and third from the bottom, Seagullz and Lokomotiv jump to second and third from the top. Seagullz will be quick to point out that Seagullz has edged Lokomotiv in all of these weeks.

PPR has a close call, and they don't have to explain to management why they left James (6) on the bench...... This was the 4th time in 9 GWs that PPR was second from the bottom!

Took down the gw30 scores, but never got around to posting them. So, this first one is a week behind.....

    GW30 = Champions Round 11

CHAMPIONS ROUND – REVEALED: Starboy XI (34 points – gw30) **FIRST STRIKE

    *Seagullz ----------------------- 51
    Real Newark ------------------- 46

    Now caught up....

    GW31 = Champions Round 12

    CHAMPIONS ROUND – Journeymen (30 points – gw31) **SECOND STRIKE-Eliminated
    Summary:
*[No Strikes (2) = Pingree Park Rangers (--), Real Newark (--)]
    *[1 Strike (2) = Seagullz (gw21), REVEALED: Starboy XI--gw30)]
*[Eliminated (5) = Tangers FC (gw24,gw25), Morning Glory (gw26,gw27), Living in Dreamland (gw20,gw28), Lokomotiv Lewisham (gw23,gw29), Journeymen (gw22,gw31)]

    Round *12* scoreboard:
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 52
    Real Newark ------------------- 52
    Pingree Park Rangers --- 46
    *REVEALED: Starboy XI -- 42
    **Journeymen -------------------30

A second strike means elimination and a 5th place finish for the 2025-26 All Rocks leader. No MCI or ARS game meant no Haaland or Gabriel, but it still took a quirky week to find this fully loaded team at the bottom of the table. Among the disappointments were captain Thiago (2*2) and McGuire (0) after a red card.

We're to the final 4. Reminder that top 3 earn points in the overall Cup Competition, and winner moves on to the Super-Eliminator.

Also, in a very important announcement, we've leaned that the SE-Cup winner will get 1 additional point in the Cup Competition.

With the Monday game to play, it's:

    Pingree Park --- 29 + 4(autosub) + Cunha(c) + Sesko
    Real Newark --- 39 + 2(autosub) + Calvert Lewin
    Seagullz --------- 29 + 12 (autosub) + BrunoF(c) + Calvert Lewin
    Starboy ----------- 42 + 5(autosub)

Unless BrunoF plays but scores 0 or negative, Seagullz is safe, since they and Real Newark are otherwise tied and both have Calvert Lewin.

Pingree Park starts the final day with an 8 point deficit to Real Newark, but any attacking return from captain Cunha could erase that lead quickly.

Even if Cunha and/or Sesko get Pingree Park past Real Newark, Real Newark can still get to safety with at least 7 from Calvert Lewin, which will take them past Starboy.

Starboy is done, and will be watching Pingree Park and Real Newark returns......

Reminder, Pingree Park and Real Newark still do not have a strike.

    GW33 = Champions Round 14

    CHAMPIONS ROUND – REVEALED: Starboy XI (78 points – gw33) **SECOND STRIKE-ELIMINATED**
    Summary:
    *[No Strikes (1) = Real Newark (--)]
    *[1 Strike (2) = Seagullz (gw21), Pingree Park Rangers (gw32)]
*[Eliminated (6) = Tangers FC (gw24,gw25), Morning Glory (gw26,gw27), Living in Dreamland (gw20,gw28), Lokomotiv Lewisham (gw23,gw29), Journeymen (gw22,gw31), REVEALED: Starboy XI (gw30,gw33)]

    Round *14* scoreboard:
    Real Newark ------------------- 104
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 96
    *Pingree Park Rangers --- 80
    **REVEALED: Starboy XI -- 78

A healthy lead over the weekend ended up in a real battle. For the second time in 2 weeks, we have a 2-point margin separating strike and no strike, and those being the closest contests in the champions round.

Importantly for Pingree Park Rangers (particularly after picking up their first strike in the prior GW), they played their triple captain chip, and eked out a 6*3=18 point return, to win by 2. Strujik (10) and Watkins (16) would have made things much more comfortable, but while the 4 points from vice-captain Enzo wouldn't have been enough...

For their part, Starboy played their bench boost in the losing effort, which added 7 points, even with 1 autosub moving 2 points into the starting lineup. With the benefit of hindsight, captaining Khusanov (15) would have played out better than captain Semenyo (5*2), and even vice-captain Kroupi Jr (10) would have brought the points necessary to survive. But, alas, a great run comes to an end, with no DE-Cup for Starboy this year.

AND, that brings us to the FINAL 3!!!! Congrats to Real Newark (still no strikes), Seagullz, and Pingree Park. Scanning the standings, they are 6th, 3rd, and 15th after 33 GWs.

With no games in GW34 for BHA, BOU, BUR, CHE, LEE, and MCI, a tricky gameweek lies ahead this weekend....... Reminder that there is a Friday deadline in less than 24 hours. Good luck to each of you.

    CHAMPIONS ROUND – Pingree Park Rangers (38 points – gw35) **SECOND STRIKE--ELIMINATED**
    Summary:
    *[No Strikes (0) = ---]
    *[1 Strike (2) = Seagullz (gw21), Real Newark (gw34)]

    Round *16* scoreboard:
    *Real Newark ------------------- 66
    *Seagullz ----------------------- 48
    **Pingree Park Rangers --- 38

And then there were TWO.... PPR actually scored 1 point more than it did last week when it had the top score, but this time upper 30s means a strike and a 3RD PLACE exit. A good run for PPR comes to an end.

Real Newark and Seagullz now square off for the DE-CUP in a winner take all finale.

Notably, Seagullz picked up their strike way back if DE-CUP Round 2 and they've need been able to avoid the second strike for all of these weeks since. Just one more to go for both of them.

Good luck to both finalists in gw36. Winner gets the 3 points in the Cup Competition and heads to the SE-Cup showdown, which will start in gw37.

    Real Newark ----- 98
    Seagullz ------------ 56

Real Newak are the Double Eliminator champions and will take the DE- back to their trophy case. It was over early as Real Newark coasted to victory with a gold medal performance this week.

Seagullz picked up an early strike in the champions Round, but then fought valiantly until the end.

The battle for the SE-Cup kicked off in GW37. Tangers has jumped to a 57-37 lead over Real Newark at the midway point of the 2-leg grande finale to establish 2025-26 Eliminator dominance.

Both teams had underwhelming captain performances Tangers (Doku (2*2)) and Real Newark (Trossard (3*2)), but Tangers got strong performances from several players to take the early lead:
    Virgil -- 14
    Szoboszlai- 9
    Brobbey - 7
    Richarlison - 7
    Munoz - 6

20 is a decent lead but not insurmountable in a 1 week head to head. Good luck to both squads.

famous last words.... we're told that Real Newark repeated something similar in the pregame talk, with the message that it isn't over and until the last whistle blows, there are always more points to be had.

Unfortunately for Real Newark, they only put up a meager 44, which meant a relatively low total score of 81 when combined with the previous 37 in gw37.

Fortunately for Real Newark, the 44 in gw38 was enough, as Tangers crashes out with a gw total of 23, which meant 80 total when combined with last week's 57.

Real Newark comes from behind and leaves as the SE-Cup CHAMPION.

    Real Newark ...... 37 + 44 = 81 (!!!!!!)
    Tangers .............. 57 + 23 = 80

    Key moves....
Tangers left BRE gk Kelleher (6) on the bench; Real N played him. A 4 point swing in a 1 point 2-game score

Real N got 2 defensive contrib points from Mukiele (4) and from Botman (3). Those 2 points from both of them made the difference. Had either failed, the result is different.

Real Newatk gave the armband to Salah (12=6*2) and was reqarded with an assist and bonus point. Again, every point matter. Tangers made Richarlison (4=2*2) captain, rather than Brobbey (5).

With each point making a difference, plenty of second guessing to be done and Tangera will have to wait until next season for another chance..
