    Today, one of my listmembers informed us that Sportal.de will be broadcasting the match LIVE on Video-Stream!!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Attention BVB Fans!! Sportal.de is broadcasting the Sigma Olmouc v. Borussia Dortmund UI Cup match on Saturday at 7PM (Central European Time) live and exclusive on Video-Stream.

    Since no German channel is broadcasting this imporant and decisive BVB match on television, the fans can log on and catch this match live. After the disappointing 1-1 in the first leg, the Schwarz-Gelben have to be concerned about everything.

    Btw, how do you get to watch Czech football in Canada? Are there any Czech satellite channels broadcasting the league matches?

    I don't watch Czech soccer in Canada. :(

    At best, I get a few games sent to me on tape. I keep up to date via the Czech sites on the internet. I support Sigma because I spent about 1-year in Olomouc between 2000-2002 (off an on).

    Although there is a website now where one can pay $15 a month to watch Czech television (and Slovak). Usually there are a few games a week on Prima, Nova and CT1 or 2.

    If Dortmund loses this game, Eintracht Braunschweig will gain a few 100k Euros, so I fear I'll have to root for Sigma in this game.

    (If Dortmund doesn't go far in the UI-Cup competition, the Eintracht-BVB cup game will be shown live on TV).

    We mother f#cking suck.

    There's no other way to put it. Two goals, both in the first match, both by Dortmund players and we're out.

    How f#cking pathetic is that????

    Congrats to Sigma.

    However, HSV won't shoot themselves for Sigma as we did. Be ready to step up your game.

    Dortmund Throws Away Millions!!

    Just as they did last year, Borussia Dortmund has again suffered a serious setback tww weeks before the start of the Bundesliga season. The debt-ridden club (90 million) bowed out of the Intertoto Cup and robbed itself of a chance for urgently needed cash receipts.

    After the 1:1 draw in Dortmund last week, a 0:0 draw in the return match in Olomouc wasn’t enough for the Westfalen club to advance. The Czech first division club now faces HSV in the semi-final of the competition on 27 July and 3 August.

    Although the BVB-pros showed noticeable improvement over the disappointing home match, only the hosts went forward in the match played before 12,052 spectators in Olomouc’s sold-out stadium. On top of that, most of the Czech’s dangerous attacks again and again came from new boy Philipp Degen’s right side of defense. BVB remained harmless on the offensive end.

    It didn’t change much after half-time. Bert van Marwijk’s team was still missing the ability to oversee and penetrate the Olomouc defense. The way it ended, an own goal by unlucky Czech international Jan Koller, gave Olomouc a 1-1 draw in the first leg and cost BVB progression to the next round. Therefore, just as last season, BVB were knocked out of the Intertoto Cup in the third round. Last season, they failed against Belgian representatives Racing Club Genk.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Dortmund verspielt Millionen!

    23.07.2005
    Wie im letzten Jahr. Borussia Dortmund hat bereits zwei Wochen vor dem Liga-Start einen empfindlichen Rückschlag erlitten. Der mit 90 Millionen verschuldete Verein schied im UI-Cup aus und beraubte sich der Chance auf dringend benötigte Zusatzeinnahmen.

    Nach dem 1:1 vor einer Woche reichte den Westfalen ein 0:0 im Drittrunden-Rückspiel bei Sigma Olmütz nicht zum Weiterkommen. Der tschechische Erstligist trifft nun im Halbfinale des Wettbewerbs auf den Hamburger SV (27. Juli/3. August).

    Obwohl die BVB-Profis nach dem enttäuschenden Hinspiel Besserung gelobt hatten, spielte vor 12 052 Zuschauern im ausverkauften Stadion von Olmütz zunächst nur die Mannschaft des Gastgebers druckvoll nach vorne. Vor allem über die von BVB-Neuzugang Philipp Degen besetzte rechte Abwehrseite produzierten die Tschechen immer wieder gefährliche Angriffe. Der BVB blieb auf der Gegenseite harmlos.

    Daran änderte sich auch nach dem Seitenwechsel nicht viel. Dem Team von Trainer Bert van Marwijk fehlten Durchschlagskraft und Übersicht. Unter dem Strich kostete ein Eigentor dem BVB den Einzug in die nächste Runde, ausgerechnet der tschechische Nationalstürmer Jan Koller war im Hinspiel zum 1:1-Ausgleich der Pechvogel. Somit schied der BVB wie im Vorjahr in der dritten UI-Cup-Runde aus, damals war man am belgischen Vertreter RC Genk gescheitert.
