The gamble we had to take is what crosses my mind. Should have been looking earlier in window than last day - Josh King would apparently have been an option if Bournemouth had time to get replacement. Not having enough strikers to frequently have no striker on the bench would be unacceptable. I’ve been trying to find the words to describe what I think about the Ighalo signing . I can’t ... @SkySportsPL will be hoping I’ve mustered something together by 5.30. See you then 👹P.S. I’m hoping the lad does brilliantly by the way— Gary Neville (@GNev2) February 1, 2020

I think the quarantine period is at least two weeks. I don't think they know the actual incubation period yet. So, he'll probably report to training on Tuesday.

I'm thinking we have plans for Matej Kovar to go on loan and we may be releasing a youth team keeper. The new guy will be our U23 keeper. I rate Kovar very highly when it comes to shot stopping and positioning. I don't know how good he is with his feet, but he's at the point where he needs to go out on loan. Smart money says that with Dean coming back, likely Romero will be going.
The Premier League have voted to change the transfer window back to the end of August in line with rest of Europe (Sept 1 next season) rather than before the start of the season.— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) February 6, 2020
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-transfer-window-summer-2020-shut-1-september Thank Christ. Another 3 1/2 weeks to drag the ********er out.
It's actually timely for us this summer with the Pogba transfer sure to drag out deep into the summer. Less of a chance for the club to be left in the lurch as was the case with Lukaku for instance.
Martinez would be an excellent summer signing but it's understandable that United would be passing up on him. Not that he'd sign with the club anyhow with Barca in the hunt for him. There are other viable options worth pursuing at CF which would be more cost effective. Sancho is the one we need to really want to take a big swing at also.
I didn't say he wasn't: I said that it's known that Barca are after him (as Suarez's replacement) and he wants to go there. The chances of getting are virtually nil here.
Who would United sell Dave to though? None of the teams who could afford him (ie pay us a big fee, plus his enormous salary) are not in the market for a keeper right now. Don't see Henderson coming back to be a #2 either. However, United should certainly not sell him yet and they should let him remain on loan (with Sheffield or elsewhere). Will be interesting to see what happens if Romero were to go (which I still don't see happening unless he wants crazy money). Pereira is always a solution I guess or preferably, we find someone more seasoned for the role. Coming back to the original point however (selling Dave), that is pretty much a no go now that we've tied him down with a new contract.
PSG could use a better keeper. Dave is too expensive, we felt handcuffed into keeping him in the summer, so we gave him that bumper deal, but he's not worth the salary, not even if we were competing for titles. He's only a decent passer and his rate of saves isn't near the top. He's probably getting paid twice as much as he deserves.
The point that Dave might be overpaid is not in argument tbh, yet it is still irrelevant nonetheless. The fact that he re-signed with us means that he is quasi impossible to move. PSG have Navas now, a top echelon, serial trophy winning player. And unless he's cost the team this season especially in the CL, it's a pretty safe bet that they will not be on the hunt for a keeper yet. And furthermore, I doubt they'd be in for Dave at the price he'd cost. Let's say that United were to sell him, they wouldn't just give him away (they'd expect £40-50mil minimum for him, and that's being conservative), on top of his salary (which is the highest in the game at his position). It's likely that if PSG were to want him to take a paycut, Dave would probably not to stay put. It's honestly pretty difficult to see a scenario where he leaves now. As previously mentioned, the opportunity to move him was when both parties were in negotiations over a new deal. PSG were ready to move on him once his contract was expired, with the promise of a big salary and signing bonus, yet he remained with the club. He might not be at the absurd level he was a couple of years back, but he certainly has regained some measure of form. Areas of weakness such as his distribution and kicking game have also seemingly improved recently. He's not on the level of the 2 Brazilians or Ter-Stegen in those areas, but then again who is? Bottom line, it really would be a surprise to see Dave leaving anytime soon, from my point of view.
