So then two more youth products down the drain. 1 game every two weeks with 5 minute sub cameo's? They'll join Chong and Gomes and refuse to sign a contract and you lot will have to find another youth player (who wont make it) to muppet about.
just curious - what is a reasonable amount of game time for them? given they are prospects not prodigies as you rightly said
Well for me, I'd loan at least one of them. But if loan is not as option, these kids play every single EFL cup game, FA cup game, dead rubber europa games (were not getting CL anytime soon).. And they sub in most epl games that are already won.
Showing promise. Its a good thing Atleti can afford to be patient with him, since they dont play for anything except maybe CL. I dont think he has that little but of ******** in him, that all Atleti players seem to have.
Id be all for finding them a good load situation but those are coming harder and harder to come by. Would you rather him play in cup games for United, the odd PL game, and when not needed play in youth games...or would you rather he goes on loan to a Championship team, not get enough minutes, and train with lower caliber players for a team thats not going to waste time developing them? Loans are integral but also a gamble.
The Beeb vs Sky: who do you trust? I'm not there yet, but imagine for a moment if the Fernandes deal somehow collapses and he's considered the fallback option. As stated, don't believe it to the case yet, but unfortunately when it comes to Woodward and Judge and their ability to bullshit and spin, can't entirely rule out that possibility neither unfortunately. They dare not mess the works though for this Fernandes deal: it's all laid for them on a plate for them and it's just about making it happen. The backlash would be bad.
Bruno Fernandes has created 16 chances via long balls in Liga NOS this season. What a pass this was. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/aZKEeQbPDe— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) January 17, 2020
Oh okay. What i meant with the Gomes comparison is that, by the time there's one year left on their contracts, and they've only played the odd cup games, they won't resign.
luckily Solskjær has been giving the youth the minutes. well if he is still around anyway. i think loans would be best. it's just finding the right environment. from what i've seen both won't do well in a long ball big #9 centric team. maybe Eredivisie or even Germany who seem to fancy the English kids these days

Woody in full mood to screw the transfer and just like AWB deal Sporting knows we wont win league / CL nor fernandes will win ballon dor to activate £25.5 million add-ons.
This is deja vu with all Ed transfers. A few months ago Spurs offered 45mEU and Sporting turned it down as wanted 50. We've now offered 50+gimmick by agent proxy because Ed thinks he is clever and everyone else is stupid. Plus neither he nor Judge has the language or skills to behave like a DoF and pick up the phone. Likelyhood is we cave and get him for a straight 60mEU+ last day of window ie paying top rate and 10 more than we could have had him for a few months ago when we clearly needed him.
article i posted earlier said £43m + £17m in potential add ons at £120k per week. if that's truly what's been agreed it's a steal. and finally a gamble that paid off. not all necessarily by design though
#mufc's attempt to sign Bruno Fernandes has stalled. Sporting want €80m, which United are unwilling to pay. Talks continue but the club haven't ruled out looking for alternatives #mulive [bbc]— utdreport (@utdreport) January 18, 2020 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51160626
Funny watching the media at times, sky sports news are the ones who said last summer that city were looking at Bruno Fernandes to “replace Fernandinho” Sky reporting is on the decline (they also regularly confuse themselves on euro and sterling values), so would take bbc over them, but all much of a muchness tbh United are close to reaching an agreement with Sporting to sign Bruno Fernandes in a deal which could be worth up to £60m. United and Sporting Lisbon still miles apart on Bruno Fernandes. Sporting want €65m up front and €15m in add ons despite talking to Tottenham for around €45m and add ons in the summer. United won’t over pay and are prepared to walk away if price doesn’t come down.— Rob Dawson (@RobDawsonESPN) January 18, 2020 It would be deeply ironic if we were to walk away from the Fernandes negotiations because we refuse to be taken for a ride, when it's exactly what happened with someone like Maguire. And we end up paying way over the odds for a player who really is not worth the amount we shelled out for him because we needed him. If Fernandes is what we expect him to be, he's one player who is actually worth overpaying for in my estimation, since we absolutely need him as well. 40mil plus add ons is a steal, 60 and change is still a fair price. If it's 80, then it's 80: the consensus is that the guy has it all and a top shelf CM in his prime, this is pretty much the running rate nowadays. Get it done ffs...
Stone now saying we’re still far from Bruno and that Sporting really do want 80 mil for him. Also reports coming out that Woody still is trying to include bonuses based on the player we get winning the Balon d’or or the club winning the CL. Woody is so bad at his job it’s mind blowing.
