...we have quietly developed a home-field advantage. After going several years of having our home record being equal to or worse than our away record, we have now gotten markedly better at Toyota Park. Under Klopas, our home record has been 10-3-7 (W-L-T), compared to a road record of 5-7-6. So while we're an average team on the road, we are above average at home. We even managed to beat a Texas team at Toyota Park this year. I don't know if it's a change in tactics, mentality, or if it's just plain coincidence. Either way, I like the trend.
And for the first time in the history of Toyota Park, the Fire won when flares allegedly went off. Dogs and cats living together.
I groaned when the flares came out last night as I was thinking the exact same thing. Dog and cats living together indeed.
The flares were there, and so was I. They went off on the aisle right behind my seat near the drumline.. P1ss on this "alleged" bullsh1t. It was beautiful, and we all know it. All it needed was smoke bombs. ps; Kudos to the guy who knocked the cinders off me.
Saturday's crowd was great. The place was packed and the enthusiasm around me in 111 was pretty good. Section 8 great as always. It really showed what Toyota Park can be with 17,000+ people in it. Also kudos to Klopas and the team making the rounds afterwards to thank the fans. I know they always do some of that but it seemed like they spent a lot more time this game.
Last season coming to the games was so frustrating. Drove me crazy feeling like getting a win was unlikely. This year it's different and i'm feeling like we can win against anyone when we are at home. Can't wait for the next game July 8th
