Thanks for your kind words of support buddy and to all of you that will remain in the league good luck to you next year as we have no option than to remain isolated from the rest of you. But I can truly tell you that our efforts towards this mighty and meaningful cause will not freeze here as supporters of the beautiful game. Through our battles, struggles, and criticisms we will remain TOGETHER & STRONGER than ever. I believe that this is just a testing of the ground to see how much we really want this back. Trust me its been very discouraging and very annoying not being able to do anything about it right now. I still can't get that knot out of my system and it will remain there for as long as I can remember or anytime I watch or attend a soccer match locally. :(

Yes, hope one day to see the Topper v. Quakes05 rivalry again. Though it will probably be updated to Topper v. Quakes07 or 08. ;)

If anyone finds a call-in number (and conference id number) for this, please let me know. Prefer that to an internet connection.

If I was Joe Gazillionaire, I would buy the Quakes and keep them in last place for twenty years. MUAHAHAAHA

Quake fans: if you're looking for a quick pick-me-up in this dark, dark hour...

Go to the Mexico boards, type in "2-0" and your post will be deleted.

    Fun times. :D

Very sad news. I'll hope for the day when the Bay area can get another team, hopefully bigger & better with a gorgeous SSS.

Well, look at it this way, the Bay Area is still the kewlest place to live in America, even if it has no soccer team. :)

Maybe, but the Bay Area's shine just got a little murkier.

An absolute disgrace, sorry guys, it must be awful, but do all soccer fans a favour and build a team in the Quakes memory. Just look to FC Wimbledon and FC United of Manchester for inspiration.
You've still got a good soccer fan and player base there, teams like the Whitecaps, Timbers and Rhinos are all fine clubs without the help of MLS, so can be San Jose. Come on, show MLS how you can fight.

Well, I suppose I now know how footy fans in South Melbourne and Fitzroy feel, or have felt, within the last 23 years. And if no one gets that reference, no matter.

I may no longer live in the area where I grew up and called home for 35 years of my life, but to lose something that has been the fabric of the community for 31 wonderful years, I feel very, very numb.

I had a gut feeling that something would be worked out, and believed that until the very bitter end.

Yet now it's time to believe that there will be a new incarnation of Bay Area soccer in the top flight -- it'll take a couple of years, at least, but here's hoping for all of the best.

To my soccer-loving mates, Quakes fans, back home... my heart goes out to you, 100 percent.

Not sure how this goes, but despite having the same team in a different city, will they still be dubbed 2-time MLS Cup champions? I hope not. Those MLS Cups were for San Jose, not Houston. :(

MLS will be back in NoCal. It's one of the best markets for the sport in the US.

Don't turn your backs on soccer my friends. Keep up the fight.

My prediction is that SSV will work to bring soccer back to NoCal as an expansion team. Perhaps as soon as 2007 with Toronto.

    what yalpstel said...

Anything won as the Minnesota North Stars does not count for the Dallas Stars. Ditto anything from the Cleveland Browns does not apply to the Baltimore Ravens.

When and if a team returns to San Jose, the titles will count for that club, not for Houston.
