Here is my story: A few days before the LA game, Andrew WK called my friend Brian (who is a student in charge of organizing concerts and other such shows at Northwestern) to talk about something completely un-related. Brian, however, thinking of me and the rest of Chicago started telling AWK about Section 8 and how we wanted him to come cheer with us sometime. I guess Andrew WK sounded really happy about the attempted DSLIR cheer and sounded enthusiastic about meeting up with us (either in LA during the Cup or later in Chicago) Brian (or B-man as I will now call him) then gave me AWK´s cell phone number and the contact info for his manager. While I was unable to get through to Andrew, I did get a hold of his manager--albeit too late. But his manager left a message for me after the game apologizing for Andrew not being there, and he told me that we would be in touch later this year or earlier next year to work out a date in which Mr. WK can meet us for a game in Chicago. That´s my story. We´ve piqued AWK´s interest. We just need to get him here now. Don´t stop living in it ... baby, Flynn ps- I sent a few cool pictures of Sec. 8 to the manager, but I was wondering if anyone had a short video clip of Sec. 8 or if there is a way we could get a video/audio clip of our songs to the WK people in order to further entice them? let me know.
Awesome Flynn! On the Fire site there is a promotional video which is about 5 minutes long. There's some bits of Section 8 cheering from last season in Naperville. Not the best, but it's something.
AWK in Section 8 would clearly be the highpoint of my life thus far - eclipsing visiting the world's largest McDonalds in Orlando. DON'T STOP LIVING IN THE RED!
