Soccernet has Dolo starting, as usual, and in an unexpected surprise, Zizzo on the bench! Let's see if he can make his debut finally.

    Well, that's progress, at least.

Hannover score at about 42', nice finish of a flick-on that came from a free kick along the left sideline.

Stevie C. looks solid...I think we in YA land take him for granted but he's clearly a quality right back - and I don't think there are any other Yanks close to his level at the moment. Probably lucky not to have seen a card after a professional foul in the middle of the field followed closely by a somewhat reckless and definitely mistimed tackle at the top of the Karlsruhe box.

Maybe Zizz will get his debut...2 of the 96 midfielders have picked up yellow cards and Huszti in particular seemed close to losing the plot. He was spending a lot of time on the right, but then switched sides and the Kalrsruhe players responded by treating him like a Mexican treats Cobi.

Good to see Dolo recovered from his injury without having to miss any games for his club team.

Karlsruhe put a golden chance off the post in injury time, 96 with a FK in a danger area, earn a corner, handbags in the box, both teams pushing an arguing, takes a good 2 minutes results in 2 yellows...

In the most predictable event since Amy Winehouse did indeed go to rehab, ref calls a foul on 96 off the corner. Only problem is, the ball went in the net, so 96 lose their heads and a goal

Full-time draw of the sister-kissing variety

Zizzo makes the bench? Can't I remember reading in this forum that he was struggling with the reserves who play in the German 4th tier?.....

Yeah, and I remember Albert Einstein failed first-grade math as a child :D. Who knows, maybe Salvatore is starting to get in gear?

He is/was but Lauth is injured so Zizzo made the bench.

I was in the stadium today and that must have been one of the worst Bundesliga matches I have ever seen.
I actually felt ashamed for the Bundesliga watching this match. Honestly, I watched several 2. Bundesliga games in the recent weeks and they blow this one away in terms of quality.
I stopped counting failded passes, technical difficulties and "Kerzen" (don't know the English term).
    It was horrible.
Dolo was as bad as the rest of the team, certainly not his best match.

After watching this match and the 1:5 trashing against Cotttbus I have no idea how this team managed to get 28 points. They certainly have two faces.

Are you saying it was Rumpelfussball today?

I am curious to the meaning of "Kerzen" as it relates to soccer. I believe the literal English translation for Kerzen is candle. Does Kerzen refer to a player's attitude (i.e., he has is on fire, or he is lighting the path for the team), or to a technical ability
(the ball sticks to him like he has warm wax on his shoes), or?

I always enjoy your views on the Bundesliga

Oh definitly. :D I'm still not over it. It was extremely bad.

Lol. Nice explanations though. Sorrry, I was still too agitated before to find a translation. Well, a Kerze is a bad clearing attempt. Instead of passing the ball to a teammate the player just hits the ball straight up without direction and skill.
This site says: Kerze = skyer/to sky ball

    Thanks :)

The fallacy of placing too much weight on one person's opinion, even if that person has first-hand knowledge. Of course, she/he could be right and the coach could be nuts to put Zizzo on the bench. Or three guys ahead of him got trashed with a bunch of strippers the night before and didn't show. We shall see.

Stevie gets a "4" and is at "3.75" for the season.

Sal gets high grades for looking fine on the bench.
